Xanax...

I have been on Xanax for about over a year and I am pretty sure that I am addicted to it. I talked to my doctor about it and he said that I need to gradually lower the daily dosage. I did exactly what I was told and try to go without it but, usually in the afternoon hours, I start getting restless. I feel dizzy, cannot focus, I am very forgetful and clumsy, I even have a hard time saying what I want to. After I take a pill, these problems disappear.
What should I do to get rid off these feelings? Help!

Thank you

What you are feeling is totally normal for w/d from Xanax. I am on day 18 C/T and the first 14 days was pure hell! Your body craves this nasty drug and yes the w/d are very hard. It is possible to get through it but, it takes some time. I did a lot of shaking, sweating and basically just very uncomfortable. By about the 13th-14th day I felt better every day. My memory has started to return and I feel like a human again. Try doing things that distract you from the anxiety, (i.e. sleeping, watching tv or movies) and try not to think about it....I know it's hard.
