Yeah, you're going to run the whole gambit of emotions for a few days, feel like you're walking around with 30 lbs lead weights for feet but your spunk will start to return. Just try not to get discouraged if it doesn't happen fast enough. You've been on pills for ten years so it's not going to get better over the course of a weekend. It might be two to three weeks before you start to feel "good" again. But sure enough, it will happen and you'll be amazed at how liberating it is to be clean again.

Start making plans now for your aftercare, cause after withdrawals is over the real work just begins. Detox is easy, staying clean is where it gets tricky.

It's awesome that you're doing this for yourself first and foremost and for your son. You deserve all the good things life has to offer, but you'll have to be clean to really enjoy it.

Good luck to you, you can do this.

For me, I don't need to know what you took or how much you took. It won't help with my response. Withdrawal is withdrawal and we all go through pretty much the same symptoms.

If this is your first rodeo, expect to feel flu like symptoms for five or so days. You may experience hot and cold flashes, fever, aches (especially in the calves), bathroom issues and anxiety. You will be uncomfortable but this is very doable and it is worth it.

The hot baths are helpful and you can also use a heating pad on your calves to relieve the aches. Be certain to push fluids and try to eat something to keep your strength up. Imodium will help with the bathroom issues and a product called "Hylands Restless Legs" is said to be helpful. If you are into the natural supplement thing, go to the health pages on the right and look up The Thomas Recipe and The Amino Acid Protocol. They contain supplements that members claim to be quite useful and help to ease the withdrawal. If you can do some sort of exercise it also helps, even a short walk several times a day will get you going. Keep yourself busy and occupied so you are not dwelling on the symptoms. If you bought your pills on the street, remove yourself from those people that you used with and the places that you used.

You are in a great place for support so post when you have questions. Someone is always around to help you out. Hang in there and best of luck!!

Congrats on stopping!  Now you have to stay that way, and that's the hard part.  You will feel rough for about 3 to 5 days.  You won't sleep much.  Probably be pretty anxious.  Take lots of baths in epsom salts.  Take advil for aches and pains or fever.  Any symptoms you have we can probably help you with.  There are OTC things you can get to help.  After the WDs are over, look at some aftercare so you don't have to go through this as many times as I did!

Let us know how we can help! : )
