addicted to narcotics

I started taking percocet occasionally 5 years ago. Now I live my waiting for the next time I can get it, or any other narcotic. I take xanax when I don't have any and ambient more than I should. I am always in a fog. I am a singe parent of a 8 and 10 year old with no other family or financial supper. I want to get off of everything now. I divorced by alcoholic spouse and started using because of all the stress and financial turmoil. What ever the excuse. I am doing it and want to stop. I don't have time for treatment. I feel so ashamed. I don't know what to do. I went to one NA meeting, but i literally work all the time just to feed my family.  Please is some one could help. I want to be the sober clear headed , strong woman I once was.

welcome....we are all here for the same reason you joined. we all have stood in and stand in the same shoes your in. i know how scarey admitting you have a problem. but im glad you can see the problem. thats a Huge step...and were here to support you. this is addiction and as tomscat said is so true...very true. so dont be ashamed..hold your head up because your taking the first steps to reclaim your life...lots of people here work and taper..some take time off work ro cold turkey...do you mind sharing what you take how much how long?   it really helps talking about this...we want to help

Hi there and welcome!! You've come to the right place for support. There is no need for shame. You have a problem,an addiction. Addiction knows no economic,social,ethnic,or sexual bounds. It can and does happens to people from all walks of life. You took the 1st step already-you've admitted you have a problem and you seek help for this.

Many people work and are unable to go to in-patient treatment. NA is a great place to go if you can. Finding the "right" NA group is key. One that you feel comfortable attending and sharing at. Finding a sponsor would be a great thing as well. Simply being here is a great start!! There is a ton of support here.

You mentioned you take narcotics. Anything specific? What is your daily intake? Do you plan to taper off them or go cold turkey? A little more info please so we can better help you. Welcome to the forum!! Your new life starts now:):) You can do this!! Here to help!!~"A"
