Why because its like using a bulldozer to move a lump of dirt.
The wds from suboxone can and will probaably be worst than her present situation.
I agree a non narcotic pain med is good advice. However first she needs to see if she still has pain. You really do not know where your body is at until you get clean.
The brain is so smart it can make up phatom pain just to get the fix.
Almost all good doctors that are specialist with opiate wd prefer to use choldine as the first line of helping the wds. Its a fact. Consulting with a doctor can be very useful just make sure you get one that works with addictions and not one that will just give you something to feel better. I had a friend that was using 15 bags of herion a day enough to kill any non user. He got clean by only using Clondine and a few benzos only for the first week. I myself have been a addict most of my life. I know how it feels and I know why we use. This is my 8th day off ethyl morphine 1000 mg a day its not as strong as morphine it self but when taken the way I would take it like drinking 5 bottles at once its very addicting .
I have really no wds now just the malise setting in and I cannot get L-Tyrosine down here so it suchs. I make myself so walks and stay active. Theres no big trick in getting clean you stop in a small time your clean all drugs have a half life once that half life is hit they can no longer pass your blood brain barrier so in truth your clean with no effects of the drugs but then the wds for a while.
The real trick is staying cleaning and never using again. This has always been my issue and I hope its the last time.
Good luck to you
why not go on sabaxone? also if you look up neurofen you will find it to be an effective non narcotic pain med., you may also want to consider muscle relaxer instead. i would consult a doctor before doing anything though.
With all respect are you sure its only 5 a day. We are all addicts here of one kind or another and one thing I can say for sure opiates like thoses have a very very high ceiling which means your body gets used to a certain amount and then craves for more and more. If its true and I hope it is that your only taking 5 a day your in good shape considering. What I would do is get a script for cattapres Clondine take only a half the first time any aniexty sets in it will calm you. Then Taper down. Take your time if your on 5 go to 4 for 4 days with the clondine then 3 for 4 days then 2 for 4 days then only one for 4 days taking the clondine when needed (do nottake too much it will make you quite sleepy. In 2 weeks you willl be clean but then please see a doctor and see if you can get on a good SSRI there are many and one size does not fit all if after 10 days you feeel nothing ditch it and ask for another one. I cannot tell you what is best for you only your body-brain can do that. People say a lot of things about SSRIi but when you find the right one it can turn your life around.
Good luck and keep posting.
" SSRI that seem to have the least side effects are
Lexapro
Celexa(very similar to Lexapro but less side effects when starting)
Please don't get on suboxone with taking 5 a day....That is just my opinon...I promise we all know what you mean when you feel so alone...But you are here, and we can try and help you...I also have four kids...I went c/t from taking up to 20- 10mg lortab a day...Looking back , I have no idea who that person was..The money i spent is sickening, and i could of spent it on my kids...But with counsouling , I am learning to let that all go....Go to the health pages here at the top right...Read the amino acid etc..
Do you think you can taper? or have someone watch the kids?
I only had one young one, thank god at that time..But i was just sick and tired of it....It is something how we can quit something the mintute we know something is growing inside of us...For my pregnacies, after test positive, i never drank, or smoked a cigerette..At that time i was not addicted to opitates, thank goodness..But then like you when they were about 4 months , back to smoking cigerttes , and trying to tackle that one...not doing too good with that one....WE are here for you!!!

If you are taking 5 a day of hydrocodone, suboxone is not for you, IMO. I take suboxone but I was heavily addicted, up to 40+ a day. I know how it is have young children and being addicted to these pills. You will get great advice here. The best way is weaning off but for many that is very hard. If you ct, the worst would be over with in a few days. You can do this. It is so worth it for you and your family. Others will give you more advice, but I just wanted to offer my support and let you know you are not alone. Keep posting and arm yourself with as much info as you can. Best Wishes
