yup, anything more than a week on benzos and i think almost anyone is headed for trouble....i've been there with ativan....never abused....but took strictly as prescribed for 5 years....it was ME who decided i needed to get off of them, for my health and sanity....doesn't matter if you abuse or are like me, and just take them as prescribed, if you take them too long, your body becomes tolerant, dependant, and yes, basically "addicted" in a certain way....i mean, i never took an ativan for a "high" or anything such thing, but that didn't stop my body from becoming totally dependant upon it....best to just stay away from those nasty things if possible....or only use for VERY short amount of time...i wouldn't wish a benzo withdrawal on my worst enemy
You mentioned the problem yourself - "the only problem is that I never quit the benzo's" -
That is why I don't usually recommend the Thomas Recipe. I don't see taking Valium, etc.
Congrats on 5 months!! Congrats on flushing!! Whoo-hoo!!
By the way, forgot to mention...
congrats on the flushing!!!!!
Good job!
the benzos are like anything else in life.. they are a tool. If you use it/them the wrong way, then yes you can get hurt.
The ideal behind a few benzos at w/d recovery, are just that, a few benzos. I got 5 from a friend and I got some much needed sleep.
I realize we are all different, but we have to take responsibility for our actions, and be mindful of our weaknesses.
Good luck in your recovery..
PS... I couldn't use the recipe, or amino acid protocol because they caused me major indigestion and gastric distress, even more than I already have..
Again my personal physiology.
