are all pain docs insane

after telling pain team about my problems with perscribtion drugs   and being perfectly honest with them before surgery.telling that i do better with pot for pain relief.she told me how dangerous it was.i stopped smoking 3 days before operation no withdrawal.she didnt even know pot is legal in the state of ny.so they cut down my pain meds to 3 days when they said i would be in surgical pain for 6 weeks.they said go to pain doc but its the weekend cant get appointment till next friday.without pain relief you cannot heal. then they  said since i wasnt on pain meds i wont need them.i fought hard to get off pain pills and stayed off them.i got a 6 in scar down my spine and i got treated like garbage.it appears you have to lie to them.they asked me to do survey about my care at the hospital.i told them the head of pain managment was incompedent and should be fired.they like there number 1 hospital  rating.shock i was treated differntly because i was honest with them.

Oh my friend, I am so sorry for what you have been through.
It is a shame that you were treated in such an inhumane way.
Try to stretch out to 240 mgs to last longer than one day if possible.
Can you ice the area also?

I too have had vasovagal responses to pain. One was in January of this right before I had my hand surgery. Extreme sweating, dizziness, couldn't hear, couldn't see, couldn't speak, then I passed out. When I woke I was then freezing, shaking, had a seizure and passed out again.
Then I just had one in July when I broke my  ankle. The extreme sweating dizziness, couldn't see, speak or hear, then I passed out.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Our bodies natural response to the pain and trauma.
I pray that you will get some rest, continue to heal, not have to deal with all the extra anxiety this is causing. It certainly isn't conducive to your healing.
Prayers and hugs,
Debbie

P.S. how would that cop know if the marijuana was recreational or for medical use? Such weird phrasing.  I wouldn't worry too much though...we live in Alabama..they believe in only one thing here when it comes to Pot....Jail!  My hubby was a user for most of our marriage (not me though...I don't like the stuff).  Our doc knew he used for anxiety purposes and even said he felt it was healthier than benzo's.
We had 911 in and out of here last year...there is no way they didn't smell the residue in hubby's man cave.  Nothing ever happened.  Of course he's quit now due to his lung cancer...we don't know what effect Pot has on something like that...so better safe than sorry.  I think hubby misses it.

I'm glad that you got something for the weekend but didn't that surgeon understand that you can't get in with your pain mgmt doc until Friday?  We were told by our surgeon that Joe's partial lung removal is the most painful surgery out there...if that is close to true and they said that about yours then I know how much pain you are in and it is ridiculous that they expect you to recuperate like that.

Do you have someone with you who has the right to speak on your behalf?  If so you need to rest and they need to get on the phone first thing Monday morning.  What I would do is call every single doc my hubby has until someone did something. In fact, I did do that once....when he was in Chemo.  Our GP doc was out sick so I called every single one hubby has until someone said OMG come pick up the scrip...he's in too much pain to do without.

If worse comes to worse you may need to bite the bullet and go to an emergency room though I understand why you don't want to.

Will be praying for you!

You won't get arrested. The medical and 'corrections' industries are about the money. It costs money to put you in jail and NY has plent of real criminals that need a bed. They are just trying to pressure you into the status quo, which happens to earn the system the most money. They may try to fine you, that actually benefit them. Relax about getting arrested, they aren't gonna tie up courts for your case.

I'm not sure if you read the social forum thread, "There shoukd be a law suit." It's real long, so it might help you pass time and not feel alone in this. Anyway, take care of yourself and try not to stress. Hope you heal up quickly.
