bad withdrawals? Help!

How bad will the withrawals be coming off of 20-25 mg of methadone given the fact i've only been on it 10 days? (a week and a half?) (7days@20mg and 3days@25mg) I DO NOT want to get addicted to this stuff,i made a mistake i think by even starting to go to it even though i was eating 6 to 7 percs (7.5's a day) i've heard the comedown off the methadone is hell! please help

HI.....My advise is stop the methadone now b/4 it gets hold of you....you will probably feel a combo off meth/perc withdrawals but its going to be a lot better then methadone withdrawals if it gets its hooks in you we just had a member Kimbo that did a 21 day methadone detox and has really been feeling it for the first couple of weeks she is over a mo into in now and starting to come out of it....it dont take long for it to get a hold of you quit wile you ahead
there has been a lot of members trying to beet withdrawals with street methadone lately
the stuff was never designed to be a get out of jail free card....it was made to save lives of the most chronic abuser's if your slamming a needle in your arm or eating 25 pills a day

I just took my last 2.5 mg of meth yesterday after being on it for 6 days. I was only taking 10mg then down to 5 and then 2.5.  Well its been 24 hrs and I've only experience minor aches n pains but I took some ibuprofen for that. Supposedly tomorrow is going to be worst, i shall wait n see. I'll let you know.  Now i think about the pills i was taking and im disgusted, so I know I will not use again. And I pray for you wont either. God Bless

thx guys for the reply's..i went down 10mg today(what the counselor suggested),so im down to 15mg and i''ll stay that way until monday.Your right i shouldnt of even been the methadone in the first place! Anyhow i came home today and ALOT of work outside and sweat alot and drank gatorade which has definitely helped out.Thx Brian on that tip..So far so good i know this is just the first day(and kc maybe your right the done hasnt got ahold yet) but trying to remain positive and im glad i caught this at the 10 day mark! phew! from the all the storys and research i'v done before you know it's in your bones so to speak and it's BAM it's gotta a hold of ya..So glad i started tapering off now..thx again

What kc156 said.....you will have to detox from opiates and the methadone may temporarily get you over the hump, but it creates an entirely different challenge.  One that I learned the hard way.

Hi. What is the reason you are taking methadone,to get off a few perk's.You should not have been on methadone in the first place.You ARE going to go through W/D from OPIATES.Get the hell away from the methadone quickly.Taper down,then stop.You are going to feel bad for a while,but maybe the done doesn't have a hold yet.

I used to go to a Meth Clinic daily and peaked out at 80mg.  I then voluntarily went into a long term inpatient program and wanted to be off of the methadone.  I did what was called a "blind" detox.  Each day I went to the clinic, I had no idea how much methadone I was taking.  The truth is that the mental factor of knowing how much you are taking or going to get really plays into it.  Ever notice you can be sick as hell and then when you score your drug, you feel better before you even take it?  Yeah, cause the mental game is so strong.  So, my guess is you wouldn't feel anything overwhelming from only 10 days, but if you are taking methadone legit, tell them to blind detox you and before you know it, you'll find out you've only been practically drinking water only for days.  I never had any symptoms at all from the slow blind detox, not even the runs!

Yes I would stop now.  The oxy is out of your system, so at this point you're just getting addicted to methadone.  I did methadone, about the same dose for ten days to come off oxy before and as far as physical wd goes it's about as good as you're going to get it...

I have never been on methadone but I would think you would have very minor withdrawals, if any, from being on it for only 10 days. I can't say for sure though. If you have any withdrawals it may be from the after effect of the percocet. Taking 6 or 7, 7.5mg a day isn't a huge habit. Going cold turkey off of that amount wouldn't be too horrible if you prepare for it. You could also try and taper if you have the willpower. Check in to the amino acid protocol in the health pages. Also be sure to eat healthy, push the good fluids, and exercise. It will make a world of difference.
There's a member here named gnarly1 and he is a wealth of information regarding methadone. I'm sure he will be along sometime today to let you know for sure what 10 days of methadone will do.
