HI Nikkid first off congrats on day 4 and getting threw your withdrawals your off to a good start
I agree with the other poster about aftercare.....if you try and go this alone it rarely works
your best bet is to get pluged in somewhere and do it as soon as you can I often say this is 1/3 physical and 2/3 mental....I never say it to play down the physical withdrawal it su cks
but you need to prepare for the mental mindscrew that hits next all your emotions are going to come back on line things you haven't felt in a wile will come back and without aftercare we will turn to what has brought us comfort in the past....more pills ....I wish you all the luck in the world with your recovery but be pro/active in it ....God bless......Gnarly
Hi Nikkid.. Congrats on day 4 !! It does feel good to be free :)) Keep as Positive outlook on life and do not get to comfortable ok Guard Up as they say.. usually there is a reason we become addicts so it would not hurt to check into some kind of aftercare like mentioned above be it Counseling AA, NA our even a Pastor.. getting to the root of our addiction is the surest way of continued sobriety.. wish you the very best on your journey. lesa
Congratulations :-)
You are on the path, but please remember that you are not out of the woods. Please be aware that cravings can still be present and that the best thing to do now is find some kind of aftercare. It's not about not being strong enough to make it with aftercare, it's about understanding and appreciating what you have been through, it's about understanding how addiction works and ways of living so that you stay clean.
