comment on our community

i have been a member on this forum since september 2007. i have seen many changes since that time. there are many that have come and gone. there are several that have been here for quite some time. in the last month i feel there has been an increase of newcomers, faster than any time i have been here. i just wanted to comment on the comaraderie i have witnessed lately. there will always be a few that cause strife but all in all i have seen an increase in positive support and community "togetherness". i feel very good about this. i see people not only supporting one another but "referring" people to others within the community that may have more expertise on specific things. i think this is wonderful. i think if you are new you have the benefit of a wealth of information. i felt the need to offer kudos to everyone here. you are all very special.

that was a great post. thank you.  i love this forum and connection i feel with everyonr here. i am so thankful i found it when i did.  i truly believe for me it was the diference in success and failure.  thanks to everyone.

I just joined a few days ago. I feel like this place is just a place for addicts to be just that: Addicts. I mean this in no way which would cause offense to anyone. This place is a place for addicts to give and get support from so many other addicts. For some reason there is just an instant connection between addicts. No matter what your DOC, an addict is there for another addict. It could be because we see a little bit of ourselves in each other or we just know the pain and the hardships that we all face... Whatever it is, this place is a blessing. This place has shown me more support in the past few days than the people in my life have overall. I am not saying I receive no support in my life, but here people just accept you so quickly with open arms, offering anything they can possibly do to help another out. This place is just great. Thank you all.

I couldnt agree more with this post...offering help to ones in need and if your not experienced in a specific area, refer to someone who is...its an wonderful thing i too have noticed!
