I'm glad I was able to calm your fears a lil :) are you having a kidney removed ? I did and it is not as painful as one would think. soft tissue and all.. glad you have been honest with your Dr. it helps so much when we are all on the same page.. You will get through this just be committed to your recovery.. Try not to stress to much just get your plan in order and keep a positive attitude.. I wish you well..

HI Becca.. I went through a shoulder replacement I think 8mo. into my recovery. I understand the nervousness about addiction.. My Dr. knows I'm a addict I also told my surgeon.. I took norco 1 week before surgery as prescribed as they made me stop my Motrin 800.. You just have to go through the Hospital with the meds they give.. when I went home she offered me oxys and percs for breakthrough.. I took the percs as oxy would have been to much of a temptation so close to my original doc Heroin.. I used 2 every 4 hours the first week as prescribed also handed them over to my husband as I have no control. the second week moved to norco and stayed there for 2 weeks then stopped all pain meds and took Motrin. first it is amazing pain meds help so much when taken as directed and you can feel yourself get better with each day unlike taking them way beyond.. You will be fine just be honest give control of the meds over to another and be determined to quit when you can go without.. I did go through wd it was minor more emotional but everyone is different.. because we are addicts does not mean we can not manage our addiction with surgery it is just having a plan.. I wish you well and a speedy recovery. lesa

First off I am so bad at math that count down is off I have 23 days till surgery . My concern is about addiction sorry I am not so clear I just think people can read my mind. I am worried about the narcos that the doc is planning on sending me home with. How much is to much if I take them as prescribed will I get hooked? My doc is meth and I don't drink alchol because I am just one buzz away from using. The surgery is kind of a trigger
