Hi Nicole...I did the same taper as you but with methadone and what a coincidence its been five days for me. i was on vicodins for 1-2 yrs takine about 5-7 pills a day. Anyhow i did not feel the withdrawals your describing right now. I am feeling a lil achey on my arms n legs (very uncomfortable). I really hope/pray you get to feeling better soon. Please keep us posted.
good for you nicole on day 5. and definetly go to the meetings. they are like a miracle drug to me. if you dont like it the first day, which i didnt really care for it because i thought i didnt belong but, i kept going back. and you know what, it REALLY, REALLY works. i dont know how na/aa works but it does. just give it some time and keep showing up.
i wish you the best. you can do this. i did and i would have thought i was a hopeless case.
hugs to you, dede
Thanks guys. Yeah I guess Suboxone did help some but I should have never assumed I could get away scott-free. I'm feeling better and stronger every day. I never want to touch another pill again!! Of course I know I need aftercare, so I am going to a counselor and NA meetings too :)
Hi Nicole I agree with IBK that what your feeling is from the pills.....these detox centers that do a 5 day detox only by you time b/4 you feel it that being said be ready to feel crappy for a few days then you will have a energy crash that can last a wile really depends a lot on how long you used how much you took and you age the 20somethings bounce back a lot quicker then A 40something just hang in there you will get threw this give yourself a chance to get better the first few weeks can be a little ruff...dont give up there is light at the end of the tunnel ...........Gnarly
The withdrawal you are felling is from the pills, NOT from the Suboxone. I can't believe there are detox centers that are doing a 5 day detox with it. All that really did hun was hold off the withdrawal from the original drug. Now, that being said, what you are feeling will not last as long as a regular detox would have lasted but the way it was done with you messes with your brain chemistry and, if I had my way, it would be outlawed. Suboxone was never designed as a "withdrawal" drug, which you have found out the hard way. Did this center provide you with counseling options, therapy, anything?
BTW, to answer your question---yes, Suboxone does have a long half-life, usually 36 hours but you did not take enough of it to be detoxing from it.
Nicole, you have been going round and round with this for some time. You have had a lot of suggestions here but you seem to keep going in another direction. We are giving you suggestions on how to get and stay clean because it is our EXPERIENCE, it is not something that we read in a book, or on line or whatever. it IS what worked for us. I think if you began listening to some members here about how they got and stayed clean you could be on the other side by now.
I hope you get to feeling better.
Tagging along as I'm curious to know the answer as well. Hope you feel better soon. Congrats on a clean New Years!!!
