drub addicts and surgery
What pain medications can be given to a recovering drug addict that will be having minor ourpatient surgery requiring several skin incisions consisting with about5-15 sutures each?? Areas consisting of arms, chest and back. Has been voluntarilly drug free for 8 months at age 43. Had been an addict since the age of 14.

Discuss it with the doctor and if he is going to need pain meds for a few days after you can set up safeguards like somebody else getting the pills and getting them to him taking them for the shortest time possible .There is no reason he should have to suffer .
