COMING OFF SUBUTEX..

Hi im totaly new to this site, im reducing from subutex, have come down from 12mg am now at 2.4mg, Doc has also told me there will b virtualy no w.ds but after reading all posts on this site im getting worried.. i am coming down at 0.4mgs every 2 weeks, it may seem real slow but this has been a long long process and everything going ok but im very wary of rushing it and messing things up. Im just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on what stage i should come off, and any meds that i could ask my doc for to help keep the w.ds to a minimum???
Thanx x

Hi Lex - you are going in the right direction.  Detoxing from sub can be a long process and it must be done gradually and you should jump off at a very low dose. From what you have described, your doctor is working well with you and you have a good plan in place.  Stick to it, do not increase your dose and when the time comes to quit, you should be in good shape and the withdrawal should be fairly mild.  Best of luck

Talk to your doctor but I will say from everything I have read you want to go WAY down like to a crumb in the" health pages " on your right look threw them you will find something that says peoples experiences with sub that may be very helpful.
