friend needs help quitting snorting pills

my friend has been snorting hydrocodone pills 4 several years now.. she can deal with the withdrawl sickness of coming off them but the lining in her nose and her sinus cavity is gone and her nose hurts really bad unless she has powder in her nose she says it help coat it and it quits hurting and running and her throat get soar when she dont have the powder in her nose...will ever stop hurting her is there anything she can do i am really worried about her

I was stopping the pill snorting thing and had same sinus problems mainly headache in sinus . I snorted Tylonal to help with that and it worked well til I started using less and less .. Hope this helps

I have been snorting 10-15 percs a day for about 2.5 years now. I have terrible burning pain in my nose and in my throat and the roof of my mouth. And the inside of both nostrils are one huge sore after another. It hurts terribly to even try to blow my nose, and when i do get past the pain of blowing my nose their is so much powder stuffed up their i cant get any of it to come out. The only thing that stops the pain is to snort more. I have noticed that the linning of my nose is pretty much gone by my septum and i am afraid that i can see bone. I have tried the antibiotic ointment in my nose every night just to try to get some sleep but i wake up every hr to 2 hrs to have to either snort more or put more ointment in my nose. I want to stop snorting so badly but the pain keeps me from being able to stop.

Unfortunately this person is not lying or making up an excuse to keep using. This is a very real and painful side affect. I know bc im currently doing research to make my pain stop. My nose pain is so intense that it wakes me up in the middle of the night. This is no joke. No excuse. It hurts bad, so back In fact that it travels down to my teeth. It feels like a burning stabbing pain. :( the only way I can make it stop is to snort another. And its embarrassing. Im ashamed of it. Im in tears right now bc all I want to do is stop. All I want to do is get my crap together. But the pain pulls me right back in. Ive tried ignoring the pain in my nose and teeth but it gwts so intense that I cant take it. My friend isalso experiencing the same thing. SShe's tried the saline spray but it isn't really helping her. Ive only been snorting them for a short time (well compared ti those who have been doing it for years) but I havebeen doing about 16-20 llortabs a day. I get a script of 120 and its gone within days. Its disgusting. Im tired of it. Im so sick of being this way. I need help. I just don't know how. Ive already disappointed my family so much with past meth addiction that I don't know how to tell them I messed up again. Im ashamed. And I don't want them to know how much of a screw up I am.... again... :'( I cant do rehab bc I have a job. Im just so lost and depressed my life has come this.... yet again. Help

ok, i have the same problem. I used to be into hard stuff years ago and used subs to get clean. and i was clean for about 6 years, then in college last April i started into vikes and perks again. Iv been doing around 10-20 a day for over a year strait. I really want to stop, iv cut back to just a few a day but at night i wake up w severe throat pain and the only thing that helps is more powder. So if there is anything that can help the hroat pain, the gettn clean is easy. please help!

itink she should snort nothing including tylone. It is not only the drugs we fet addicted to but also the route inwhich we ingest. snorting ANYTHING at this time is prob gona be a big trigger for friend

i use to snort pills also like 15 a day and when i quit my nose burnt like crazy she is not lying when she says this it will stop burning took my about month what i did in mean time was i snorted tylone not good thing but i did that first week like 2 a day and then 1 then 1/2  she might give it try good luck

I am taking subs to get off perks and am down to a very sm peice a day have been for around 3weeks what should I do? And how will I feel after I stop taking them?

A petroleum based antibiotic application will help her nose to heal ........ and not die, as she is slowly killing it with her current approach......saline rinses are also good for the nose to begin healing. Healing will not begin as long as she continues to medicate with powders that are not designed to be inhaled.

I hope this doesn't sound rude, but to me, she is just using that as an excuse and us addicts are good at that in active use. Although I did not snort pills, i snorted a lot of coke and there were times my nose was so sore that it hurt to talk. Nosebleeds and waking up every morning feeling like someone punched me in the face till i got a line in me. Her nose will be sore for awhile, but most times the lining will heal and that pain will go away, but it took over a month for the scabs to heal and the pain to go away. What she needs to do is quit and get some help. Sniffing pills is not a way to live and the damage that comes. The nose will be the least of her worries, if she don't stop. There are others here that snorted pills, so you can get some advice from their experience. You sound like a good friend, I hope she does the right thing. Good luck
