thanks its nice to know I'm not the only 1 up lol energy level is great !!!!!!!!!!!! mood is good . I sufure from depression & I think the pills add to it. I know sleep will come but thank God for my husband when I do fall asleep he'll let me sleep for as long as I can. I over the years believe in a more nature based religion. I do pray I was brought up in the catholic religion & at this piont I'm not beyond a good old our father or hail mary tx's for all your support : )
HI Mary....I just want to take a minute to encourage you.....sleep is really tuff coming off narcotics...you may try laying on the couch with your eyes closed and some soft music playing in the background...its about as close to sleep as you might get for a wile
just hang in there your doing great day 5 is usually the turning point for most of the symptoms but sleep can take a wile longer...just know this....your body will sleep
when it is necessary it will probably come in short 2 hr stints when it comes so get use to cat naps....how is your energy level??.....I know this is probably the farthest thing from your mind but exercise will help out with the energy crash that most of us get...so push yourself to get out of the house and go for a walk even if its just around the block you can work up to more vigorous exercise as time goes by...right now its baby steps...also on the long nights I found praying to be helpful if you believe in God...he all you got when it 3 am and your up alone...hang in there keep posting for support good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
well day 4, sleep doesn't seem to be comming : ( well second by second that were I'm at once again the clock is not a friend of mine.watching some tv. of tomorrow & god bless my husband he's being so understanding, If sleep does come he let me sleep & get up with the little 1's so no presure life is good enjoying the quiet & the movie thats all I can do now. Got to hang in there for God sakes it day 4 I knew it was coming lol wasn't going to get off that easy
Keep going Mary! Funny you mentioned coffee I remember after I woke up from surgery I said " I WANT COFFEE" lol but when I went through all these WD.'s just the smell of it made me sick to my stomach. I am on day 28 and I drink only a cup a day. That's awesome to the pot of coffee I was drinking on the pills. Hang in there girlie you are almost to home base! We are all pulling for you! I also had a distinctive smell when I was sweating all that stuff out. It's just the toxins getting out of your body so I took a lot of baths! Hope this helps a little! You are doing great!
ya coffee tough but with 3 little 1 to get out to school I need at lest a cup in the morningI'm taking the advice I'm going to stick to 1 post I 'll pic 1 of the many & run with it can't believe I'm doing this it's sureal. now I'm crying because I'm actualy doing this !!!!!!!!!!! the start of day 4 It's all a blur but I'm here thank you everyone I'm taking it 1 second at a time : )
Mary,
I was an avid coffee drinker, but it really irritated me during detox, so I start doing decaf, not sure if it affects you the same, but I thought I would throw that out there. I tried my best to stay away from caffeine and sugary foods in order to give my body a chance to rebuild with the vitamins and aminos.....good luck and staying busy definitely helps.
thanks gnarly I'm still hang in there I'll take your advice. I'm very moody & I cry all the time but every time I find myself looking at the clock I tr to do something, anything. right now the clock is my worst enemy . trying to stay in the monent & move move move. I've been sleeping thank God !!!! But only starting day 3 without vicoden I hear the road gets even more bumpy through day 3 to 5 so I'm off to make an apple pie & have a cup of coffee busy busy busy Its the only thing keeping me going thanks everyone for your support.

Hi Mary, Stay the course! How are you doing today? I've been thinking of you!! ~Lindsay
"waking up in a puddle of sweat I could do without that " .....well at least you are sleeping! That's a good sign - many people including myself did not get any sleep the first few days - take in each "acheivment" like this and be proud of yourself, look for anything to give you motivation.... the first time I made dinner without a pill - give me hope, hope that i could do it for 1 more day....
Keep Busy!
This is a tough period, but it does get better.....I remember just tying a knot at the end of my rope and just hanging on. I took l like 8 hot baths a day.....good luck and hang on!
