Hey Casey69,
You should probably post this as a new questions rather than asking in this thread. You'll get more and better answers. That being said the answer to your questions depends upon what you're quitting and how you're quitting it. Apparently going ct from benzos carries a seizure risk and I'm not sure but maybe the same goes for tramadol.
There is no risk of seizures associated with quitting opiates ct.
Ijustwantoff.will Ibe prone to seizures? Ilive alone.
You did a nice slow taper since March that is definitely a factor that is making
Your withdrawal lessened. Along with the protein drinks and Lots of water.
Staying active is a very good thing.
You have done well. Keep on keepin on.....
Not now but I used to take an OxyContin or oxycodone in the morning.
Wait. What pill are you taking in the morning??
Thank you for your comments. I realized I forgot to tell you one thing. I take .1 mg of Clonidine at night for blood pressure and I don't take my pain meds around the clock. For the past two months, By the time I take my first pill in the morning I will usually have gone 15 to 19 hours. Do you think that has helped me not have bad withdrawals?
Hi well ever so often we get someone like you that gets a ''get out of jail free card'' count you blessings and give God the thanks if your in 3 days and only getting mild discomfort thats probably all your going to get....I detoxed many times and it only got worst as my disease progressed keep posting for support and be glad you dident get in any deeper then you where...........Gnarly
Just remember that your body need food for energy and it will help during the healing process so try eating something you will feel much better.
I have been drinking a lot of water. I have lost my appetite a little which is a good thing.
8 days...Good for you girl! Sounds like you are on your way.:)
You sound like things are going pretty good for taking as much as you stated so maybe you will get lucky just stay hydrated take your vitamins and eat healthy stay away from energy drinks the first 3-7 days can be rough then its a mental thing till for about 14 days then you should be off an running just keep us posted and good luck.
I put on my last patch 8 days ago. Thanks for your comments
Welcome! Quick question....when did you put on and take off the last patch? Only asking because the patches are good for 72 hours. It would be awesome if you bypass nasty wd's, but it may be that you just haven't really hit the 3 day mark depending on the last patch. Just wanted to throw that out there in case symptoms start to kick in.
Wishing you the very best...keep us posted!
You are so sweet Robin. That is fascinating about the guy that gets w-s on day 7. The creepy crawly feeling on my back has gone away. I mainly am a little tired and the arm I had surgery on has some pain spikes. I am 49. I always drink a lot of water. About 80 to 100 oz per day and I have been drinking protein drinks for two years straight.
Will withdrawal symptoms be starting soon? Today is day 3. I woke up feeling pretty good. A little tired now because I ran a bunch of errands.
Well I can and will answer your question. Three days you will go through hell. Please try to find the recipe for detoxing at home. I don't remember the name but another member on the Substance Abuse Board will. I am not saying that You abused anything its just where you can find the best advice from the best people, that's my opinion. BIG thing I do know is stay hydrated!!! Even when you don't want to DO IT. It's important to stay hydrated and flush the toxins out of your body faster. Water is your best friend, but there is ALOT more help for you here hon, you have def come to the right place for knowledge and support!! Bless your heart and good luck you can do this and I am so GLAD you did not try to do it cool turkey like some do. It is cruel and so unnecessary to inflict more pain on yourself when you already don't feel good. Please report when you can, we care!! Breezy
I weaned myself down from March to this month
Started at OxyContin 60 mg per day, 6 to 8 10 mg percocets. A 12 mg fentanyl patch. Before that 7 months of 5 to 6 Vicodin per day.
how much and what kind of medication were you taking.
If you are young, and you've only been on the opiates a year, it's possible you are one of those few, rare, fortunate people who won't experience anything more than some mild discomfort. Insomnia, restless legs, body aches, stomach cramps, maybe nausea and/or diarrhea.
I'm in my 50's, took oxycodone for 8 years (prescribed) and for me, the withdrawals started right away, peaked at around day 7 and then got much better at days 10-14. It was nothing I couldn't handle...no writhing around on the floor and having convulsions like you see in the movies and on bad tv shows. It felt like a nasty stomach flu.
Keep us posted on how you're feeling the next few days. There is one person I know who swears her BF never starts withdrawals until he is 7 days off the drugs, but this is not common.
Don't worry, or build this up in your mind too much. People work themselves up into a froth over detox and withdrawals, but truthfully, I had hangovers in college that were worse.
I predict you will be just fine....but stay in touch. Hugs, -Robin
