brother getting ready to detox off klonopin. treatment center says they use suboxone

Do doctors use suboxone to detox someone off klonopin? I was told from the treatment center that my bro
ther would be getting suboxone for his klonopin addiction. I thought it was for opiate addiction and was dangerous to take with benzos. Thanks  for any help you  can give me.

sub will do nothing for clonipine treatment with that you need to be tapered off it slowly over several months I have never hered of sub being used for anything but opiate treatment are you sure your bro is being on the up and up with you he might be to embarrassed to admit he has an opiate problem you could google sub for this treatment but I doubt you will find anything coming off clonapine is a ruff detox if they try to go fast its not very plesent doing it slow I wish you all the best with this good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

I also thought it can NOT be used for benzo withdrawal.    I'd get another opinion before going that route.
