I am so sorry to hear this. I was bit concerned to, because there are some jobs out here that will not allow you to work under any mind-altering substance, like driving a truck or working heavy machinery.
I was going to say the same thing as jifmoc. Maybe it is time for you to go to the Dr and talk about a taper plan to get off the Dones. He could write out something that you could give to the railroad and maybe they will still hire you a bit later. PLZ do NOT beat yourself up about this. It is not the end of the world. Maybe take it as a good sign above and realize it is time to choose this great job over the pills. This could happen again. You have a baby coming and YOU do want to be clear headed while raising the baby.
I know this is bad to say, but I wish I would of never opened my mouth up to that nurse about my Taper. Heck, she left right away, as many other ppl did. Not a good place to work, I heard. Anyway, just think of the future and try to get off these crazy pills. The longer you are one them the harder we fall, both on and getting off. Take this as a sign and try to get clean & sober off it all and go work a program. I know you can do it..YOU have a WHOLE new future ahead of you and if it is not this Job another one will be even better. Talk with the DR.. I sure am sorry and I do wish you the best. WE are here if you want off these pills. Take good care of YOU and your Family by being clear-minded for them all the way.
Wishing you the best!

Hi...well the test today are prity specific to each drug tested and most dont test for methadone and as long as you got a prescription your going to be fine.... if you do test positive for this your prescription will get you out of it...I would also recamend getting off it as soon as you can I used it at 150mg for almost 7years and it was brutal to kick the longer your on it the worst it is time to take back your life once and for all just know there is life after methadone keep posting for support...........................................Gnarly
Hello & Welcome.
Now days we have our rights to work on these meds if we have some kind of disability and need them.
When I was nursing I would change positions or jobs here & there and I was on the Methadone. I had so many drug test done back then. In them days they would only dip the stick in the urine and nothing showed up as Methadone. I would always take the bottle and they said if it did come up they would have to find out why I am on it, buy talking with the medical drs.
There was a time when I got a new job and was ready to start. I told the nurse I was tapering my Methadone's and the big boss used many excuse to not let me go. I KNOW it was because of the Methadone. SO You can just tell them you are prescribed some Medications at work and go from there. However, now days it seems like they send it out alot and it will get broke down to where they can find any drug in the system. Some places do & some do not.
Right now I would not worry about it, see what happens and go from there. As long as it is prescribed we do have many rights. I wish you the best on your new job.
Bless
Vickie
