Tapering from subs ? not answered

I posted yesterday and asked if anyone has complete leg weakness the kind  you cannot go up and down staits with. I had this tapering from oxys, but need to know if I will be capeable to working past day 9 with at least more NRG than I did with my oxy taper. I sometimes have to do stairs. I livfe in a 3 level t-home. Will my legs be "jello like:? This is my only fear. Hoe bad on a scale of 1-10 is the weakness? 10 being the absolute worst and 4 to 5 being doiable.
Please be more specific for those who were on it for 5 to 6 months. I had a real bad stress day and took all 16 mg from 32 usually 24 mgs too elarly in te day but WILL NOT take anymore tonight. I have to be strong and beat this Bit**h of an addiction to subutex. I may bet booted off for this, but would tepering down to 1 mg and doing a few hydros for w/d  be easier than jumping off sub or is the damage done?I am on subutex not suboxone. Sorry if I broke the rules.Desprate here!

ummm you mean like using hyrdo to get off of sub???? no that would be a VERY bad idea it may not do anything anyway .I strongly suggest you tell your doctor what is going on . So he can help you .what type of after care are you getting? People may have not answered your post yesterday about the legs because no one here has had it happen . There is a post called " suboxone how hard is it to get off of " that has info from people that have gotten off sub I would ask if anyone on that post has had the leg problem.

I was on subs for a year.  I tapered to .5 for a week after being at 1mg the week before.  I jumped off totally October 2, 2008 (October 4 was my birthday)  Its been 7 hard fought days for me.  But today feel manageable.

Heres the deal as far as I was concerned.  The legs, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst) WITHOUT EXERCISE, EXPECT A 7!!!!!  You have got to get the blood flowing in those legs.  If you let them just sorta hang there it'll be worse at least it was for me.  Biking stationary or real is better than walking.  Plus the air really helps too so does the sun.  I'm not gonna lie to ya, I had a really bad first 4 days.  In desperation I got online and did some research and found this place.  People here got me to Day (7) and trust me it really help through the withdrawal process.  You have to take a few days off work, the more the better.  If you can get ten days total including a weekends you are golden!
The key is to find the right time to do this when you can commit 100 to the process but dont take too long.  Some people suggest tapering right on down to a crumb then a crumb every other day.  If I had to take a stab as to what was more important getting off asap or waiting till conditions are optimal, (you got the days of peace to commit to the process) I would choose the right time BUT I would nonetheless taper as low as you can go!

If ya need anything let me know!

Im currently at 2mg sub, ive been on for 3months now and I gotta be off within next 30days. Im considering trying to speed it up and do it sooner, but either way I will document my progress. Before I found this forum, I was somewhat naive about suboxone, now I know its no cake walk and there are some serious withdrawls. Thankfully Im much more prepared for what to expect, Im going to use a benzo for 1-2weeks when I jump off, along with a host of other vitamins and as much excercise I can get myself to do. Im lucky enough to have the time off from work to take really as much time as I need to get back to sobriety. For me its so important to keep the final goal in mind, I want so bad to be able to wake up and not have to take something in order to not be sick. I have to say that the combination of sub treatment, medhelp, therapy and my family and friends my motivation to get clean has never been this high. I fully intend on posting as much information about my detox as possible, just those out there can make a more informed decision when deciding their own path. Good luck to everyone, take care.

It seems to me like most people are in a huge hurry to get off Sub.If you do your homework, you will see that long term tapers are much easier on the body and mind.If you push yourself too quickly, you are going to suffer a bit more than normal.Tapering should be done in 6-8 week intervals, and with careful monitoring of symptoms.
I hate that this drug is always getting a bad rep because people do not educate themselves on it.www.naabt.org is a wonderful site, full of very good information to help with Sub treatment.Even some doctors are not educating themselves enough about it, and that is really sad considering we look up to them to know what is best for us.The truth is - we should be fully informed about ANY drug we must use for medicinal purposes.

I don't disagree!!! Look Subs helped me get off hydrocodone.  My Doc claimed that getting off Subs was easy little or no withdrawal.  I jumped after .5 for a week.  What kinda taper specifically have you heard might actually be effective in minimizing with withdrawal? In other words how low do you go before you jump?

I guess its just individual.  We all react so differently..  The www.naabt.org site is what brought me to sub to begin with and after I read it I was soo happy to know sub was an alternative to a 10 day miserable detox off of painkillers.  For me, I wish I found this site instead of that site cause I would have never started subs.  So, I saw a doctor and I did a long term taper as that is what my doctor guided me to do.. slow and steady--take as long as you want--the longer the taper the easier it will be, etc.  Almost two years later -I stopped 36 days ago at 1mg- my doc promised little to no withdrawal.. 36 days since my last sub and I am still having residual withdrawal.  I know for a fact I would not have suffered more than a week or two had I quit my DOC and not gone to subs... I guess there is a very fine line between too short/too long use of sub.  Most of the stories Ive heard that are postive about sub are from people who used short term just to help them come off their DOC.  I have not heard many long term sub users have anything positive to say about it, once they try to quit.

Hi guys ---
Shelwoy -- I wonder if you took Sub yourself or just going by what the Naabt site says?  I also want to respectfully disagree with you on this one.  Refusingbondage is absolutely right ---- I too used Sub and am now off of it but it took a very long time ---- well over a month to stop having severe W/D's.  The people who have used Sub and then reported on this site have mostly said the same thing about their experience ---- I would think the reports are about ten to one or more against using Sub --- and this comes from the very ones with experience on it.  We have nothing to gain by saying negative things about Sub -- only a desire to help someone else.   If someone chooses not to believe us or thinks "the doctor knows best" , then they are free to go that way.

TysonRed----  I know that you have what it takes to quit b/c you have seen what this stuff did to many of us who came on here and told our stories.  Therefore you are and will be prepared to do whatever it takes to reclaim your life and I wish you all God speed.

After getting clean and observing so many others on this site who also did it, I can only conclude that there is no painless way to avoid W/D's --- you can only delay them and by taking Sub, the W/D's are ten times worse when you try to come off of it.  Well, again --- I only want to give my opinion in a very respectful way - not cause anyone to get upset.   All the best.
Naabt was the culprit that caused most of the deception along with uneducated doctors or doctors who just do not care and take the money and run.
