thank you...i have a different way of saying things. and its hard to communicate at first because they are just words on the screen. i try to use analogies alot  to help paint a visual of what im trying to say....we need as many clean time people here.  so many people are hurting in the world. we are all trying to find our way. and sometimes we feel so alone. i do. when i was abusing oxy i felt like a monster. i felt sub human. but now 90 days free i feel better. i am not 100% better. but each day i don't use i feel better about me. when i first quit i wanted to be normal. i wanted to be my old self. but now i am just me. if ya know what i mean. its hard to explain. i let go and let God. i know it sounds cheezey but that all i knew what to do. i was out of options. i am glad you didn't find any sarcasm in my post i had none intended. only support. i think if you have 1 day or 1000 you still need support or can give support. lol. its such a life changing thing for an addict to stay clean the rest of their life. or at least in my case. i just stay in the moment and tell myself not to use. i can't control no more than that. and here i am 90 days clean and going to surgery at 2.pm im shaking like a leaf. because i know ill get a big bottle of my friends at the end. but now they are my enemy. i must remember that.  peace and love....bama

I know where youre coming from in the sense that it seems like no one knows how YOU feel. But then I came here and started reading some stories and found that my story is like so many others, just different amounts of different drugs. This is a great place with great people going through the same s@&t. Stay the course and we'll all beat this together.

there is no compition on staying clean. its slow and stead wins the race!! hills and valleys rain and dessert. its digging deep and looking inside of ourselves..finding out the source of our void and feeling accepted...its all that and more..this is a lifestyle change. and that's hard. much support and congratulation on your clean time.  please stay here and keep posting.

I know where your coming from. Ive abused various drugs, including alcohol. I dont profess to know everything, but I do know about detoxing. Im well aware its different for everyone, and different drugs produce different symptoms. Its not rocket science. 11 months clean and still getting symptoms off subutex? Don't get me wrong, this is not a contest for me.

I'm a crystal meth addict and alcoholic. So physically you have more on your plate when it comes to detoxing. I grew up around many heroin addicts. Its especially "good" where I come from. if it was the worst the last time you detoxed then the next time would be even worse than that. I recently relapsed on alcohol after 5 years of sobriety and had an unprotected sexual encounter where I was sure I contracted the HIV. We aren't the same in our our addiction. We lie, we cheat, we steal in more ways than one, we hurt ourselves and the ones we love. Knowing that should keep us sober right? :) It will never be easy but we are not alone or isolated cases, and we deserve to live a great life. Stay strong and follow the STEPS.

A big thankyou to everyone who has replied to me. I can't believe how many positive and helpful people there are on this site. I'm new to the net, and can't believe how helpful this experience has been already. It has taken me 2 days to learn to use the site. I have been a Heroin Addict for twenty years. I completed a Subutex/Suboxone Detox 11 months ago. I have done detox in a variety of ways over the last twenty years. This time around its been the worst experience imaginable, and i dont say that lightly. If anyone out there would like to get involved in a discussion on anything to do with drug Addiction, i would really appreciate some input, I am willing to answer any questions that i have have direct knowledge of too.

Welcome blueer, You've already completed the first step - you've created an account here at Medhelp.  The substance abuse forum is one of many forums here.  If you go to the top of the screen and click on "Forums" it will populate with all of the different forums Medhelp has available.

If your intent was to ask questions about an addiction problem you're having, you're already in the right forum.  You can just continue to post on this thread that you've created.   If you're looking for a different forum, then you would just start another thread in that area.  And if you have any questions,  just post it, and someone will be happy to help you.

Good luck and glad you joined....

Sandy
