Hang in there,  really! I relapsed and now I'm back on day one. I thought what's one gonna hurt. Three weeks later I'm at four a day.  Your life is with a couple days of uncomfortable symptoms.

First you really NEED to give yourself some major credit, you have already gone through and past the physical w/d which a lot of people cant get through and relapse immediately because as you know, they are hell! When I detoxed off of methadone, my addiction specialist had me on a ton of drugs to help fight the cravings and physical w/d's. One of the drugs was neurontin (sp?) for cravings also a lot of docs prescribe clonodine which i didnt like. Anyway have you thought about seeing a doctor to help you with these cravings? You really can do this, every time you have a craving just think about the fact that if you do give in and relapse you will just have to endure those horrible w/d's again! One more thing, my doc also suggested taking a few benadryl when the cravings were at their worst, it just kinda calms you down without having to add another controlled substance to your body. Good luck, I have faith that you will succeed, now you just have to believe also!

I agree with Lost regarding the SAMe - it can be an effective mood elevator - just don't take it if you're already taking an SSRI.   You may want to look at kk1303's post - I think its still at the bottom of page 1 here - about foods to eat when cravings hit - they increase the natural endorphins in your brain and may help with your cravings.  I know these are small concessions, but sometimes they're enough to make you feel at least a Little bit better....

Wishing you well...

Sandy

Let me ask you, do you have a history of depression? It's a treatable condition. If not, then it's a manifestation of the W/D's and detox process.
Again, it will pass. You will go through a lot of feelings. Getting off opiates
is hard! But like you said, you don't want to go back to the misery.
Remember, what you're feeling at the moment isn't going to last forever.
To borrow Gnarly's line, you have to be ok with not being ok for a while.
I know it's hard. I know it hurts. I know it seems like it will last forever.
It doesn't. Stay on track and you will be amazed how much better you will feel. Have you picked up any aminos besides the Ltyrosene? DLPA and
SamE and L-glutamine are good for mood. SamE has been particularly effective for me in battling depression. Hang in there.

unfortunately, depression seems to go with the territory of withdrawal.  The brain is not used to working...those lovely pills did the work for it and now the brain is saying  WTF????  You have to give it time.  I am still waiting for my brain to kick in and man is s u c k s waiting!  Are you taking any of the vitamins and minerals that will help your brain kick in??

Just breathe. The anxiety is temporary. The cravings are temporary. Did the oxy kick your ***? It kicked mine. I don't want that life back. I didn't want that life back so much that I was willing to put up with feeling really bad for a while.
Give yourself a break and don't take anything. Like Sandy says, time will make all the difference. You will feel better, as long as you don't use.
The first few day are the WORST. It will get better, I can promise you that.
Keep posting.

Tomskat is right - you just have to hang tight with everything you've got until it passes.  I've read about cravings in general, and I don't know if this applies to drugs or not, but the average craving lasts about 15 minutes, and then subsides.  You may get another one in an hour, but the 15 minute rule still applies.  I've only read this,  so I don't know how true it is.  But you could distract yourself with something else, ANYthing else for 15 minutes, like posting here, and see if the cravings subside at all.  It's worth a shot.

At the end of the day, time is really the only thing that lessens the cravings and the anxiety.  I don't know this regarding the cravings from experience, but from everything I've read and learned, is that it WILL pass. And I have gone through the anxiety which is no picnic.

Take good care....
