thanks for caring,he was only on methadone one month. He didnt like the way it made him feel, guess it wasnt what he craved.been on vicodine the longest, this is his second refill of norco but its what did him in! he finished bottle of 120 pills in 10 days, then could not get refill so soon, thank god!! today has been pretty pleasnt, his clonodine is working great or he found my hiding spot again!!
I know what your going through from both sides..I became addicited because of shoulder problems that required surgery and I am off them now but my husband is an addict..ughh..How long ago did the dr. switch him from methadone to Norco? That is pretty important and also how long was he taking methadone. I gave went cold turkey off both. And let me tell ya..the Norco are nowhere near as strong as methadone..so him taking 10 a day is really nothing if he was trying not to be sick with w/ds from switching from the methadone..I have a good article in my journals that is written by a dr.who also was an addict..there is some very helpful info in there about both methadone and any opiate really..
I meant taking 10 a day! on sunday he had a couple left , monday,I didnt notice any change, come tuesday all hell broke out!! I made an apt. with dr. that went well,he said he should work on tappering down,he also gave him some pills to help with sleep and some clonidine.today I gave him 5 before he left for work and I will give him 1 later if he needs it,yesterday I did the same and at nite the last one I gave him he only took a half! there is hope!! he did break down,on tuesday he is angry at himself for letting it get this far, angry, embarrassed, ashamed, but still very much in pain! dr. also referred him to pain specialist, maybe he can fix his shoulder!? thanks for listening, I will definetly show him this site!! thanks again
I am sorry, you asked what is he going through...Well the world i use is he ll.....This is by far the hardest thing i have ever done...He will be very sick, no energy...direahea..days 3 and 4 is the worst..The sleeping is the worst...He won't sleep for a while....There is many supplements he can take to help ...
You are welcome..Do you mean by 10 a day last week? or 10 the whole week?
Do you think he is being honest with the amount he is taking, since he finds your hiding spots?..
I know this is hard for you..I am a mother, wife and became addicted myself...If was embarrassing, and no one ever thinks this will happen to them...If you need anything we are here...I think it would do him alot of good to get on here, and read that he is not alone, and it can be done, I am a yr clean from taking up to 20 lortabs a day, all because I wanted it, and this forum...I was taking them for 3 yrs...
good luck

thank you! he was taking 10 last week, sunday took 1 today sent him to work with 5,i have tried tapering but he always finds my hiding spot!
Welcome...I am so glad he is honest with you...First off he sounds like he has enough which is a very good sign...Go to the health pages on the top right and read, you can even print them out and take them to the doctor...
How many was he taking a day?
If he is strong enough for you to hold them, then he can taper and it will be alot less painfull...The doctor can help with that, or we can help..
Also he needs to ask the doctor for clonodine...But also needs to make sure with his doctor if his blood pressure is not to low to take it..
We are here for both of you...Tell your husband that he is going to feel like the flu for a week, but he has to fight through this, and we can help, you and him
good luck
