Again, we are not supposed to give taper advice but if I were you I would just jump from where you are at now. I jumped from 30-40 mg of methadone before and it is doable. If you are down to 6mg a day then you should be good to jump cold turkey. Methadone withdrawal is always a little worse than other opiates. If you prepare by getting your suppliments and most of all protein shakes. If you haven't already found the article look in the health pages and find the Amino Therapy Protocol and it is specifically designed for methadone withdrawal.....Do not let people scare you though....You have done a fantastic job getting down to 6 mg's and your withdrawal will not be as bad. As soon as you can get some mild exercise keep going and work your way up to 45-50 minutes a day 4-5 days a week and I promise you will feel better quickly. Are you doing this through a clinic? If so, what did they tell you about the taper?
