Physicaly no but mentaly yes. After i went cold turkey and went through all of the wds i was clean for about 35 days until i relapsed. I haven't been physicaly addicted for months but mentaly i'm still in very bad shape. You are correct, everytime you use after you become sober it is a relapse. After being sober for 35 days i was feeling better every day but there is always at least one day if not more in a week that you will feel like giving up and wanting to start using again. You need to have a relapse plan and find some coping skills that will work for you so that when these days come you can deal with them. But going back to the mental thing, It gets easier as days pass but as soon as you relapse its like starting over again. Your mind will keep telling you that you did it once and were fine why not one more time. Thats where you get in trouble. So if you truly want to stop i suggest stopping completely. Everybody will relapse but dont give up. Keep trying no matter how many times you relapse and you will succeed. Goodluck, let me know how you're doing.
Does taking the opiates "off and on" impede your quest to become sober? I'm trying to learn all I can about this addiction but everything I read says that each time you use it is considered a relapse.
I was in the same shape for about a year and before i went to rehab i tried boxes from the street and they do wonders for the wds but when i stopped taking the boxes i was right back to the ocs. Boxes are short term and are supposed to help you wien yourself from the ocs as i was told.. If you can deal with not being fu**ed up in some sort of way after the wds go away then boxes will be fine for you. If you are like me when i quit i kept replacing it with something else bc i couldnt take being in my right mind. Now i'm working on being completely sober though i'm using opiates on and off still.. Goodluck.
From what I've read about Suboxone, it's a short-term thing, or you're in worse shape than you were on oxys re w/d.
If you could get in and out in three weeks or less, it might work out.
if u were on oxy every other day..or every third day..then ur body is used to doing without which would make wds easier had u waited it out...sub is a solution for some..but educate urself on what u r getting into
if after doing so u decide to continue sub...u would have to find a dr in ur area who has the license to rx it..they attend an 8 hr class//or less//and then they can rx it..beware as there r good sub drs and bad ones too....it is expensive if ur insurance doesnt cover it...300 bx for a scrip here cos my friend is on it from work and our insurance does not cover it...look into it and be sure it is the option for u..keep posting as theres lots of support here
