opiate help...finally

hi. I am new to the network.  I am  businessman that has been using about 50 mgs per day and getting tired of being imprisoned by these pills. I have been using mainly to perform well at work. now that I quit (23 hours so far) I'm concerned that my energy and drive will dip. Any thoughts?

Hello traveler and welcome! Good for you braking out of the opiate prison! It is worth it, so hang on keep going. I cold turkeyed off about 80 mg of percocet daily, and went to work on day 3. Best thing you can do as it keeps your mind and body busy. Energy? Yep it's a challenge at first, but it does return, and the idea that you can function without pills becomes quite invigorating. It will take a couple of weeks. This first week is the biggest energy challenge, it gets better from there. Drink as much water as you can to flush the toxins out of your system, get some immodium for the runs, take a walk in the sunshine.  Eat small bland meals, motrin and epsom salt baths help. Good mineral supplement. Post and read here as much as possible. You are not alone, and everyone here knows what you are going thru. Make sure to get rid of any "emergency" pills you may be holding on to, this will only set you back. Cut your sources by deleting and blocking all connections. You are on you way to FREEDOM!  Think of it as the flu. You got this!

Good morning! Wow two weeks already? Great job! So how are you feeling? I was thinking about you yesterday,  wondering if you had left for your business trip. You ready?

I think it is normal. It takes our bodies a long time to get back to normal. But, it does get better. It just takes time.

One thing I have been noticing is that although I am VERY glad that I am no longer slave to the pills, still I have a low level anxiety, and just kind of numb. Not really happy, but not miserable either.  Is this normal?
