It depends on the person I had high blood pressure while addicted to codeine but it is genetic in our family,I have to take medication to keep it under control,it didn't raise significantly when I stopped taking codeine.

I heard the same thing, that it lowers it. About 2yrs ago I was in the ER with severe flank pain.. turned out to be a 9mm kidney stone that had made its way to the lining of my bladder. They gave me a cpl doses of morophine while I was there and the nurse said something about keeping an eye on my BP after the meds because I already had low blood pressure.
they typically lower bp....but sometimes when people are going through w/d's it will raise.....
opiate's slow down your respiratory system therefore your BP goes down when your body is used to having the opiate's and you go off them your BP raises sometimes very high depending on how much you were taking and for how long .
Just wantd some opinions I have bn doing research and alot of sites say dif things thanks
most of the time it lowers it
