Feeling Great - No hydros

Well, after a short taper (at my peak I hit 100 mg daily of hydro, leveled down to about 50-60 mg daily, then dropped my dose drastically over the weekend from 50 mg Friday to about 30 Saturday, ZERO Sunday, back to 25 Monday, and 15 yesterday) I've taken no opiates so far today. I have enough to take up to 10 mg today, but no more. My rx for klonopin came in and it's really taken the edge off. I'm in a good mood, feeling awake and anxiety free. No real w/d to speak of... we'll see after I eat, though. I've not yet missed school or work, I actually feel social, and don't feel any of the usual symptoms. I plan to take 5 mg mid-day and another 5 mg tonight, then 5 mg total tomorrow, then totally done. My question is: will I even experience w/d? I seem fine!

At my mildest addiction with this toy box play with drugs I will tell you that I was at one time only take one 5 mg hydro a day.  When I went cold on that about a year ago okay I thought I was not well as in this is bad.  Now the w/d only lasted a day.  A full day of detox and then I was fine.  No weakness nothing. But I still went thru a 24 hour period of adjusting my body.

I got up to 8 of the 7.5's a day this time around and it's been a different story. Harder to get off of. And this is in some ways easier than the really bad stuff I used to do.  I think each type of drug has a different type of feeling to it along with how one is hydrated and how one gets thru it.  This is about my mid level c/t detox of drug usage.  Not the worst and the least. So you can do it but wow that is a very wild taper plan.  But if it works for you then by all means do what works for you.

Well, I had quit taking high doses about 42 days ago. At the time I was hitting 100 mg daily of hydro. I quit basically c/t that time, made it through w/d and then relapsed two weeks later. So, at my peak I was taking 100 mg daily, but over the course of about 3 weeks steadily lowered my dose (with occasional spikes - we all do it to get high) until last Thursday. Now I'm tapering. I just took my dose for the day - finally, at 8:30 PM - 10 mg. Tomorrow I'm shooting for just 5 mg total. The klonopin really does help.

All in all I've been on and off them since last January, and before that I was taking 150+ mg daily for a while in April of 2007. The year before that was my worst c/t, coming off 150+ mg hydro/oxy daily. So, I have a history. This binge has lasted a few months, but has had totally clean periods mixed in.

I think just knowing what's coming, accepting it and fighting through is helping.

Thanks for the good words.
