Tomorrow is last day on sub.

Tomorrow is my last day on sub detox and this was the plan and I stuck to it all the way.
Day 1 - 8mg
Day 2 - 8mg
Day 3 - 8mg
Day 4 - 7mg
Day 5 - 7mg
Day 6 - 7mg
Day 7 - 6mg
Day 8 - 6mg
Day 9 - 6mg
Day10- 5mg
Day11- 5mg
Day12- 4mg
Day13- 4mg
Day14- 3mg
Day15- 3mg
Day16- 2mg
Day17- 1mg
Day18- 1mg
Day19- .5mg
Day20- .5mg

It figures that I would have to read (this was on another board) that this girl was only on 1mg for 19 days and had "real bad" withdrawals.  I don't know WHY I stress myself out over stuff.  I guess even though many have reassured me here (and thanks for putting up with me) I have read so much bad (not only here, I had googled something and wound up on heroin detox ******* and happened to read how they are recommending starting at 4mg or even 2mg and for only 7 or 8 days) that now I am scaring myself again that where I would have only had a 5-7 day wd period from lortab now I am wondering if I have screwed up and will have to suffer for weeks.

I am on Day 19 at .5mg and feel fine.  Yes, I have started sneezing a bunch today and my left leg hurts some but that is it.  I have slept pretty good every night.

I have taken a multivitamin with high minerals everyday, plus a protein shake which has the added bonus of 420mg of potassium and 1 5htp and 3 ltyrosine per day.

Does anyone feel like telling me that I am going to be fine again? lol  Seriously, I know I am a worrier so I do appreciate all the support that I have gotten here.  Lyn

This is a very old thread that many people will just pass over. Please, open a new thread and ask your question again. Also, include relavent information such as dosages and length of time on the Sub.

you can get off it just takes more work. thanks for sharing that......all the more reason I despise replacement narcotic opioids. I and I can tell you that shaking methadone was enough to convince me that THEY ARE THE WORSE thing to shake.

You know the 30 patient limit for Suboxone prescribing doctors has recently been raised to 100 now?

There's going to be a continued increase of people looking for direction and support with it. And you'll be in a unique position to help them out now. I really hope you continue to stay active on the forum to help them out with your insight in the coming months.

Thanks and besides my friend reading it, I know how it felt when I started sub and being scared to death that I would make a mistake and now I am seeing so many starting sub, I just really want them to know what they are getting into, how serious it is that you don't play around with this drug.  I want people to know that it worked for a short term detox,  but the key is the tapering and I wouldn't have known just HOW important that is if you all wouldn't have let me know.  So to all the new sub users, please read everything good and bad and then make a plan.

Everything you've done until this point has been huge! And I think all the work you put into it paid off in the end - as it should for anyone trying to beat an addiction so diligently. Very, very happy for you...

Just bumping this up so my friend can see it and also to let you all know that I still feel ok.  No withdrawals last night or today.  My energy is low but doable so I am ok.

To worried - I stayed on the sub a total of 20 days tapering down from 8mg at the start. (see the top of the thread where I listed my taper plan) I feel ok as far as depression.  The amino's and vitamins have made a difference in the mental part because the ltyrosine is just enough of a boost to where I am not dragging myself around and the 5htp has helped with my emotions.  Of course, as you all can see for the past few weeks, I did stay very anxious but that was only because of being afraid I wouldn't do the sub right.  I do have to say, that in a way, I do appreciate the negative comments because they helped to keep me in check with my taper and making sure I did it safely and as quick as possible.

Lonesome - you are doing great and with your slow taper that will make all the difference.  You all have been so supportive to me, my lifeline, I honestly feel like God directed me to this site to help me know that I wasn't all alone.  That makes all the difference.

How long did u stay on the sub?  just curious...be sure and address any depression issues or anything that occurs if anything does occur...give ur brain time to heal...if we can just make it to the point where our brain can heal without using...i think we got it made!

I still think you will be OK. It is such a short taper, your body shouldn't w/d from it much.

I'm so happy for you, can't wait to post here about me stopping sub as well I'm still on 1mg doing ok still is been a 10 days on 1mg and dropping to 1/2 tomorrow hope all goes well.
I'm so glad you are setting a great example here that sub is not ALWAYS  a bad thing like all medication is a tool to help us WE are the PROBLEM.

You are a great example to follow faith and no pressure if you were to go back for any reason on sub again for another short term don't feel the pressure ok.

faith---- 90% is gonna be in your head. Your taper is excellent and your plan was very good. You will be fine and should only experience very minor w/d symptoms if any. Most of it is in your head at this point. So stay positive and stay strong.

Hi worried and I will keep going and be fine.  I guess I just like to know.  If they have a half life of 35 hours then I would think that I wouldn't have to worry about any withdrawals since it is 49 hours already.  We will see.

Hi all!  It's been about 49 hours now and I still feel fine.  I am not feeling in withdrawal so if I were going to feel something bad wouldn't it be happening by now?  I had a little bit of leg pain last night for a few hours but tylenol pretty much took it away.

Thanks toomany, worried and lonesome.  I took my last .5mg around 9 am(wanted to hurry and get it out of my system) and I feel fine today.  I really feel normal, my energy is good and no anxiety which is so weird that I am not having that.  My sleep is pretty normal.

I saw a pattern at around 4mg.  Say if I took 4mg. then it was 2 days later that I felt a tiny reduction and I almost don't want to even mention it because it's so bearable and any lurkers reading don't need to feel worried.  But anyhow, all it would be was a little pain if left calve and my hands felt swollen.  That would last for a day and be gone and then about 2 days later as I would drop a mg. I would feel those same symptoms again, they last the same amount of time and are gone again in same amount of time.  Yesterday, I felt those symptoms and now today they are gone again.  I am guessing that I will feel them again in 2 days for that final drop but if it's just gonna be like it has been then yes, I will be fine.

I guess that things in my life have been so hard, so stressful and for so long that I almost don't know how to act when things are getting better..lol.  I am ready to learn though.  Thanks to all of you for being there for me.

PS to toomanytimes>  I have been praying for you every night and I know you will be successful too.  I think you just had to get adjusted good before you could taper because of the side effects you were feeling..hugs!

After a few failed attemps at kicking my heavy Norco addiction, c/t, going on Subutex has really worked for me!  No cravings, normal triggers for relapse don't seem to bother me, just a few tolerable headaches!  I just came from a meeting where everyone on Sub or how took Sub hasn't relapsed once since day one of starting Sub therapy.  If you feel it's a good option for you at this point of your life, at least give it a try.  It doesn't work for everyone, nothing does!  Try not to get too wrapped up in all the chat surrounding Sub, because it's different for everyone.  There is plenty info out there as far as methadone, lots of negative feedback, and I know a few that really benefitted from taking methadone!  So, it's your choice.  Whatever you do, trying to keep positive and open-minded will help you succeed!!

u made a plan...do not freak out now...follow thru...dont question now whether it would have been better to do this or that...u r where u r and u followed the plan that u made for urself....how can anything be wrong with that?  going back and wishing and dwelling gets nobody nowhere...except stressed out and negative....u r moving forward and looking back is moving backward and should be avoided at all costs...u will be fine girl...u have the lord on ur side and nothing bad will happen to you as long as u stay focused and strong...He looks out for us
