I HAVE BEEN CLEAN FOR 14 DAYS TODAY AND I AM VERY PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST PASSED WHAT TO ME IS THE ULTIMATE TEST. I HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER WHO'S HUSBAND HAD A MASSIVE STROKE IN AUGUST AND SUFFERED PARLYSIS OF HIS RIGHT SIDE AND CANNOT SPEAK AND THEY HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REHABILITATE HIM TO GO HOME, BUT HE HAS NOT IMPROVED A WHOLE HELLUVA LOT! FAST FORWARD TO NOW AND HE NEEDS TO COME HOME BECAUSE MEDICARE WILL NO LONGER PAY FOR HIM TO BE THERE...I HAVE  BEEN PAINTING AND MOVING THINGS AND DOING THINGS THAT PEOPLE WITH MY BACK CONDITION SHOULD NOT DO, AND THE ONLY THING THAT I WOULD ACCEPT WAS A TYLENOL ARTHRITIS, AND I NEED TO TELL YOU THAT THIS PERSON HAS AN UNBELIEVABLE SUPPLY OF NARCOTICS, THAT SHE USUALLY GIVES TO ME. I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN LAST NIGHT AFTER ALL OF THE PHYSICAL LABOR THAT I DID AND I MADE IT THROUGH. WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes...sometimes it feels good to pat ourselves on the back. I can't stay away from this person, she is a very close family member and does not abuse the narcotics that she gets for very real problems, so it's up to me to stay strong. I also quit smoking 2 1/2 years ago and can be around it without wanting one, in fact I hate to be around it because of the smell also. Thanks again for letting me share my joy! My thoughts and prayers go to all who are trying to get past this demon.

Well done new..You have made up your mind to stay clean and really want it badly.Good for you.I am the same,I'm not around people with narcotics,but work with them and have no interest.I did the same thing with cigarettes and can be around people who smoke although I hate the smell.

Congratulations on 14 days. That is great! You should be very proud of yourself.  Please stay away from this person with the supply. Find joy in your sobriety but please make a plan for aftercare. It took me 2 years and about 18 relapses to listen to others and learn that I can't do this alone. Use any help that is available. One of our members is really suffering right now and would give his right arm for NA or counseling, but they don't have it in his country. It is readily available to us and we tend to try it alone. I am so happy for your cleantime. I just want to soo you have 100 days, then 200:o)) Wishing you good thoughts, Corey
