short-term Suboxone?

I have been on vics for about 5 years now.About 5-10 750's a day. Quit a few times when i got my heart broken but eventually went back to them. Recently just found out about suboxone and started it. Not by a Doc. Went from 4mg for 4 days 3mg for 2days and now the 4th day on 2mg. I guess my question is, how bad will the w/d's be if i go to one for 2-3 days and then .5 for a few? So far ten days and i feel great. Some mild discomfort but nothing to complain about. I guess i just doubt that it could ever be this easy. Am I in for hell or what?

I have said it before and I will say it again ---   Going on Sub to kick a class three narcotic like Hydro is like using an atomic bomb when a hand grenade is needed.   Because of our fear of W/D's some of us would simply change our DOC than face them ----  Hydro can be successfully tapered to quit -- may need some help with someone holding the supply and dispensing - but definitely doable ---- If you start and stay on Sub for 2 weeks you will likely become so hooked it will be companion for a very long time.  The W/D's will still be there when you try to stop the Sub --- Mine lasted for almost two months -- If I had known then what I know now I would simply have continued my taper on Hydro and then jumped from that ---without Sub.  I encourage you to read a post in the Health Pages titled "Members experiences coming off of Suboxone."  All the best.

I think that is a different eagle...the other eagle is not going on sub ..he has been clean for a while...people on low hydro doses need to be safe doing this sub stuff...dont get stuck on the sub and try your best to get some support after u get off..detox or physical wds is not the hard part..everyone is so afraid of it..it is the aftermath/the mental and determination part to stay clean that is tough..it is wonderful that u feel great tho and all should go well for u if u get on off the stuff soon....be safe

i'm going to be in your situation in about 2 weeks .i'm going from 10 -10-325mg norcos,trying to taper before going on the sub. i only have 15 n8's.so good so far for you ,keep us posted on how you do.hope you stick with it

You are making a severe mistake by trying to juggle medications and escape the dreaded withdrawals....How much do you know about sub? You were only taking 75mg hydro at best .... Am I hearing that you reduce dose by 1/2? That is normally a lot. You may wish to make a plan and put it on paper. Its more real in black and white....and it easier to follow. Take inventory and figure out exactly what you want to do .......And it is really hard to answer how bad the withdrawals will be - thats conjecture at best and its a lot like asking why someone doesnt like strawberries!! It just is what it is because it has to be something ..............
