oh boy

Day one coming to an end, last dose was Tuesday mid-morning, now its Wednesday evening. By some miracle, no cravings at all, I think that I was so debilitaed and fed up that i have had a kind of surrender, have been given the grace to at least not crave. Other symptoms ok except for excruciating pain in lower back/hips/kidney area, I don't mean the usual dull throbbing ache of detox, so bad that i cant find any comfortable position, neitner sitting nor flat nor on my side. I am trying to remind myself that this is temporary, and thankfully using a pill is not an option tonight (truly not interested) but f it, the pain! I guess as many miles as you walk into the forest, that many miles you will have to walk to get out of the forest - I was walking into that d am n forest for 3-4 years, so some pain is part and parcel of the deal.

Anyway, it gives me great joy and gratitude to be able to post on here one day clean again - last time was in november 07, lasted approx 6 days and then resumed using for a hellish 11 months with so many attempts where I could not get one day up. Feels much different now, and I am deeply grateful for the shift, and grateful that I kept trying despite a truly dismal track record of "failing" to get clean.

Any suggestions for the pain would be appreciated, I am surprised at it, its fierce. Took some acetominophen and ibuprofen, will hot shower and am heating up the bed with an electric blanket.

anyway, one day clean, allelujah!!!!!!!!!! thank you thank you thank you

Congratulations on day 1. That's great. It sounds like you have a great attitude and are doing all of the right things. It's good that you took off work. The more relaxed my atmosphere the better it was for me. I will say a special prayer for you and hope the rest of your detox is not too bad. GBU, Corey

Hello everyone, thank you for your kind words - day two, around 48 hours since my last dose of nurofen plus. Had a wicked night, not much sleep, that tossing and turning, on my left side, on my right side, front side, back side, uspside down, and no position comfortable for more than a minute or so. Also, up to go to the toilet literally a dozen times, combined gastric problems and I think my body shedding much of the bloating that it had acquired during the pills. Now my main complaint is super weak, despite aminos and bfast. I just want to lie in bed and moan, but will make myself have a shower and go out into the world. Called in sick for work, took rest of the week off. No cravings thank god, that is one less burden to contend with. See you all later!

Here's a new one (for pain). Yesterday at my massage therapist I was told to put casteroil on a cloth and put it on my painful area, wrap another cloth around to keep it in place. I didn't believe it much but she is a straight up girl so I tried it last night and my lower  back is feeling much better and I haven't taken my aleve today.
She also says put a bar of soap under the sheets for RLS. I don't have rls but did during wds.
Congrats on day one!!!  My MOST oldfashion recommendation is prayer. I spent alot of time calling out to God in my real hard moments.
You can do this. Glad your day 1 wasn't as bad as you had thought.,

heat pads are also a good idea for the pain, althou.. mine more in my legs,, 4 on each leg last night.

its the nurofen plus your giving up??????, is that right.
you have given me lots of encouragement ingetting throu the worst of my w/d, as you know i was taking over 60 a day, enough to kill a horse lol.im now on day 8, the pain is not so intence anymore. still very sore but much more bearable. beleive me 1st day is mentally the hardest, but you,ve done that now, unfortunitly its time to just suck up the pain.. just remember the worst it is, the closier it is to ending, no matter how hard it gets it has to end eventully.
you can do it, you know you can
keep me posted pls
