starting suboxone on my own for third time

My question is how long should I wait before starting suboxone if this is my 3rd time.  Second to last time they had me wait 12 hours and started in doctors office and I did very well but last time I started on my own I waited 12 hours and think I threw myself into withdrawals.  Can't wait to get into my doctor this time bc I start a new job on Monday the 30th and need to be stable.  Please help any advice would be appreciated!!

It doesn't matter about the hours; you have to be in the appropriate amount of withdrawal. The COWS scale should help give you an idea but what will happen to your job if you throw yourself into precipitated withdrawal?  There's no way out of that but time.  You probably will do what you're going to do.  Be safe.  Much better to wait for an appointment.

Thank you ariley13!  Appreciate that.  :)  Yeah I just can't understand why the last time I waited the same amount 12 hours and still went into withdrawal.  I am taking quite a bit of norco 10-325, about 12 to 15 pills a day...uugg :(  So this might be tough...I will go check online for that scale!!

Hi there! Subs should be done under a dr's supervision. There is a scale that can help you to understand when to take them. It's called the COWS scale. Look that up and it should help. You want to be sure that you are in moderate withdrawals before you initiate the subs otherwise you will have precipitated withdrawals and from what I hear, that is miserable. Please be careful doing this on your own. Good luck to you and take care!
