Need some advice...

My best friend, who is an amazing person, has an OC habit. Yesterday I had to rush over to his place because he was having a breakdown. Anyways, he badly wants to get clean and is giving it a shot tonight. I loaded him up with several different types of vitamins from the Thomas Recipe. I know I am so very early in my recovery but I want to help him through this. It makes me happy to help. What should I do? I know I am supposed to heal myself and be selfish but had this curve ball thrown at me. I was planning on helping him once I was taken care of. I honestly feel like helping him is helping me with my energy/motivation issues. That is the only symptons I have & only had a 1 hour crash today vs the normal 2-6 PM crash (no energy, motivation etc..) the past few days.

Well, I just got back from going out to eat with him. I gave him the tools to do it and also recommended this site. I informed him that he is going to have to do the rest on his own but if there is an emergency to call me.

NA saying " You can try to get your old friends clean but they'll probably get you high first". Just be real careful, you gotta protect your sobriety wih your life.

For me, I would have no business trying to help someone when I was only a few days clean. From my experience I will promise you this---you will use before they get clean.

You seem to be looking for every reason to concentrate on other people or other things instead of yourself. Not trying to be rude, trying to wake you up. You are posting two, three, four whatever posts a day.

Stick with YOU and stop trying to save the world. You cannot save someone when you don't know yourself yet, right? It is another way not to face your demons, just as the drugs were. Do you see that? I was two years clean before I sponsored anyone or began to help anyone. Selfish as it sounds, I needed to help ME. Maybe you are different.

This is all just my experience hun and you can take it for what it is worth.
