suboxone saved my life

today is day 6 without roxies, and i have tried quitting before cold turkey but that never worked. I always ended up giving up a few days in. So this time i went out and got some suboxone from a friend of mine, and i never realized how well it works. At first i thought it would just help with the symptoms only slightly but today is day six and honestly i feel incredible. I have been on 3-4 30mg roxies everyday for about 2yrs and today is the first day in a long time that i have been happy. I have tried quitting about 10-15 times cold turkey and this is the first time with suboxone and it has saved my life, it was a cakewalk compared to cold turkey so i would like to thank everyone who talked about suboxone and how well it works, which in turn made me try it.

You assume that i dont have a tapering schedule, then you tell me you dont know what you are doing, and i do have a tapering schedule and i do know what i am doing so if you dont know all the facts shut your mouth bc when you assume things you make an *** out of you and me.

You don't even know what your doing.  You say you got it from a friend.  How much are you taking?  You know that withdrawal can be worse if its not tapered correctly.  You may feel great now, but get informed how to taper off, or your gonna be back in the same boat.

Luv,
Nauty.........

The Suboxone contains an opiate itself (partial agonist) - so it will hold off withdrawal from oxycodone, but won't cure an opiate addiction itself. As you'll have to stop taking the Suboxone and the opiate it contains at some point. So having a proper tapering plan is still a requirement and difficult to do if you aren't use to an opiate with such a long half-life (it's quite different from oxycodone as far as dosing and effect).

It's really not a drug you can just take for a bit and completely avoid withdrawal from an opiate addiction. Be careful with this, and I would encourage you to see a doctor to get it correctly prescribed if you want to use it.

like support groups...aftercare...NA...AA...counseling...even posting on this forum is considered aftercare....getting clean is not really the hard part...the hard part for me is staying clean and is that way for most....u need to stay on track after u r in the clear and aftercare helps...there are support groups for narcotic abuse all over the US...all over every city..at all times of the day and night....818- 773-9999 is the NA number and that is free...there is also a number to call for counseling from an addiction specialist but i am sure that is not free.....dont want to make u feel as if u r not doing great....cuz u r...just gotta look down the road a bit
