really need help..

i did a sub detox last week-very low sub doses-approx-1 mg-tried to get off after 4 days-was really depressed and sick.
went back on the sub-so i can get to work this week.Im a mess-i feel like i can't get off the sub-
As soon as i get those real w/d feelings-i get post traumatic-from the yrs of trying to quit-
Just some positive responses-of getting off the sub-ill be trying again after fri-as ill have a week off.
The depression is the worst part-along w/ the anxiety-i gotta get through this-
Im really struggling and feel alone..
thanks for listening..

Hey everyone. I currently got off methadone ( 150 mg a day) 3 months ago and now I'm on subs. After taking the subs way too soon and not being in enough w/ds from the meth I was super sick. I got over that was on 32 mg. I've tapered down slowly and now I'm on only 2.5 mg. I was feeling great until I went below 4mg. Now I'm feeling slight w/ds but enough to be uncomfortable. My question is how long will the taper w/d last? And should I increase my dose or am I just avoiding the unenviable (feeling some w/ds during the taper process)? Before the done I was on heroin and I really don't want to go back. I've been off and on done for 7 yrs. I just want to be off all of it. Please write back if u know how long I will feel sick from the 4mg to 2.5 mg taper. Thanks!!!

I'm sorry that you're going through, however, many people new or just coming back NEED to see posts like this.
Clearly, this is yet another example of why the MIND and attitudes of a person DESPERATELY need to be addressed as well as the physical aspect.
Sub can certainly keep the w/d at bay albeit for a while but it can never keep you away from you.
Find an NA meeting and/or therapist.
God bless.

Worried is right.  If you meant that you tried to get off Sub after 4 days, and that means you had only been off of your previous drug for about 4 days, I think you didn't give yourself long enough to be out of withdrawal.  After 4 days, you will still feel it.  So when you stopped taking the Sub, you weren't masking the withdrawal anymore.  The good news is that you are feeling fine from only 1mg of the Suboxone, so I think you are on the right track.  I would give it a little more time, maybe a few more days, then start taking .5 mgs a day.  Then literally shavings of the Sub pill.  You are in a very good position right now to be successful with a short detox!

I would think u r not addicted to the sub since it has only been a week or so....i am not sure of ur doc or dose but u may still be having wds from ur doc that u feel when u stop the sub..if u do not want to become addicted to the sub then most get off in 3 weeks or so,,u r at a low dose of sub as well...what does ur doctor say?  I would let him/her know how u r feeling...if u do not want to feel any wds u may have to stay on the sub for a while longer..there are other meds that can help that are not addicting like clonidine, phenergan, safe sleep meds....talk to ur doctor...making a plan and sticking to it is always best and if u r afraid of possible wds from sub then u may have to feel a bit bad for a bit or use the sub to avoid that feeling from wds....do u have any aftercare plans?   reading thru the health pages may help too as there is a wealth of info there....just know this will pass either way u go..with the sub or without..just be careful with the sub unless u want to use it long term..support groups in ur area can help that "alone" feeling too
