Lortab Withdrawl

Hello all. This is a great place. Ive been on lortab for approx 3 years, 40 mg a day. Im in full withdrawal and freaking
out. I went from 40 mg a day to 10 mg for three days and the last three nights Ive broke a 7.5 in half.
Im not going to take one tonight. Im done, but, I'll tell you, I am freaking out and about to go to
the emergency room for help. The mental withdrawal is sooooooooooo much worse then the phisical, but the physical is bad also. Ive been taking .5 zanax at night to try to relax. Ive been throwing up at least 5 times a day. sometimes dry heves and sometimes a bit of liquid. I pray and write down my feelings to look back on
when Im clear headed.
Am I about through the worst of it. Or, what should I expect.  I feel for all of you that are going through
what Im going through.   God Bless all of you.            What the **** should I do?

Thanks for the quick feedback. Wow, Its nice to have people care and give advice.
Im trying to keep fluids down, but, its been hard. I think I throw up mainly to my messed up nerves.

My wife said, if not a little better tomorrow, she thinks we shold go to emergency room for some fluids or such. If I go, Im not sure if to tell docs that im withdrawling or not.

I have been taking warm baths and they do help to relax.

Please keep the advice and prayers coming. God bless

phenergan may help if u can call ur doctor and plead a tummy virus..which u may have as that is highly unusual for a 40 mg a day habit....something else may be wrong like a bug...when we detox we pick up lots of flus and bugs as the immune system is weak....eat soft easy to digest foods like toast, applesauce etc...dehydration feels worse than wds...and it can happen quick...phenergan is for nausea and u can get it in the dermal type or suuppository as well as pills..but u may not hold the pill down...it will also make u sleep and relax..be safe..call ur doctor if this doesnt ease up...be safe...drink fluids if and when u can hold them down

You are going to feel pretty crappy for the first say... 4-8 days. It is completely normal to feel as badly as you are going to feel. You have been putting opiates in your body for a fair amount of time and it's going to take a little time to detox off of them...

Most people feel most of the following: aches and pains similar to the ones you have with a bad case of the flu, body temperature regulation problems (one minute you are sweating and burning up and the next, you are freezing cold with goosebumps), sensations of 'painful skin', bowel irritation, restless legs, sleeplessness, irritability, lethargy, anxiety, depression, nausea, lack of appetite... It doesn't sound like fun at all, I know... In fact, it f***ing s**ks. It passes, I promise it does... And when it does, you will feel so much better.

Treat yourself how you would when you do have a bad case of the flu... Plenty of fluids, Motrin for discomfort, hot baths, green tea, plenty of rest... Try hard not to get frustrated at your lack of energy... It will come back but it will take time...

In the Health Pages (at the right-hand side of the page) there are many articles that are very helpful. Take a look at the Thomas Recipe, the Amino Acid Protocol, and the PAWS articles... These have been so helpful for many people here...

When you have some energy and feel up to it... try some exercise. I know that right now you are probably thinking, "You crazy B****!!! YEAH, RIGHT!!!" But - when you feel up to it, trust me, do it, it will help a lot with anxiety and your energy levels.

Also - post here... rant, rave, cry, whatever you need to do... We have all been there (many of us, several times - I know I have) and understand what you are going through.

Congrats on your decision... it's a hard one to make but the effort you put in will make what you get out of it so worth it. Chasing those d@mned withdrawals is ultimately more exhausting than suffering through this part of it in the long run.

Good Luck, Stay Strong, and Be Kind to Yourself... You can do this.

Yes, the throwing up is usually a symtom of stronger narcotics, but it happens. Just stay determined and it will end soon. You don't need to take another addictive drug to get through it. all the best

Your taper was really fast. I'm sure that you made some progress into your withdrawls. For most it seems to be 4-7 days. Are you keeping any liquids down. You could be dehydrating. Are you using Immodium? Try to take small sips of liquid at room temperature. Can you take a warm bath? If your not able to keep liquids down you may have to see a doctor. Are u able to talk to yours about this? I will keep you in my prayers. Post and let us know how you are. GBU, Corey

wow, all that throwing up is not so common. it is usually the 'other' bathroom issue.

so what are you eating or drinking? you may feel better soon or like most you will feel like you have the flu. if you are not usually a healthy eater, this would be a good time to start. lots of fresh healthy foods and some cardio exersize will make you feel as good as possible.
to straighten out your stomache you may want to get some probiotics. they are the good bacteria that is pretty much wiped out from perscription drugs especially anti-biotics. the only good ones are the refrigerated kind. they sell them at "Whole Foods".
After finishing one bottle you should be in good shape. about 2 months. but you will feel the results much faster than that.

hang in there, it is going to get better.
