Hi, welcome to the forum! Lots of nice people here that will be looking out for you during your journey. Post often!
My advice is to go to NA meetings. You are in an incredibly vulnerable situation right now, and with counseling a month away (why? That's so boneheaded! You need it TODAY!), you need all the help you can get. Well, that's what your "therapists" here want to do for you while you are waiting. You can go as often as you like to NA meetings, three a day if you want! Hang on tight. I'll be looking for your posts. Again, welcome!
Hi there and welcome!! Congrats on your clean time!! Definately continue to post here and read others posts, the health pages, etc. These will help stave off your cravings. Anytime you feel a craving, get on here and post! I agree with snake-go to an NA meeting. It may take a couple times to find the "right" one but you will and what a difference they make!! We've all been through this before and are here to help so pm anyone whenever you feel like it. We're all here to help!!Stay strong and keep your guard up. Use your support system, maybe even start journaling to discover what is triggering your cravings?Good luck and I'll also be looking for you:):)~Anne
HI its a dead serious queation but the answers are complex it not so much the drug we crave but the escape from something that is bothering us .....these issues can be deep down where there even hard to find or know what they are once you start consoling you will reach down and get to them in the mean time distraction is probably your best bet turn up the music and get lost in some songs dance to burn away excess energy get into a good book or old movie find some clean friends to hang out with find somebody you can share your feeling with that wont judge you.....you need to be mindful and take the thoughts captive and do your best not to obsess on them this is a battle one or lost in obnes own mind but I find distration my best bet when I crave that and rationalize whats really happening is this the addict rearing its ugly head or am I thinking clearly and then focus on thinking clearly think about how hard it was to get where your at about your clean time find something you like to do and do it the main thing is to ocupie the idle mind a idle mind is a dangerous plase for an addict ....you did good posting keep posting till it goes away other will come with more suggestions also vigorous exersize also helps if you can do it what ever you do dont give in fight it you are fighting for your life I will be out here if you need to chat just message me good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
HI :).... all the questions here are seriously considered by us, don't worry... about yours, as you can figure there is sadly no miracle answer... but a bunch of small steps will help you as it helps me.... start a sort of daily routine that includes exercising, meditation, yoga, rest... and whatever physical activity that will keep you busy thus you will also start producing endorphines, follow a healthy diet ( keep yourself busy by planning it, buying the food and cooking it, you may also have a look at the health pages, the amino acid protocol ), loads of comedies dvds to distract your mind, long walks, ....a long daily hot bath at the end of the day to relax your mind and body with some essential oils and relaxing music, .... start a journal where you can write down your thoughts and face them with constructive thinking, .... talk to your boyfriend, don't build up your emotions, let them flow.... spend time with the people you love and just focus on each hour or even each minute whenever the cravings hit....
Hey, you can do it, don't think that you may disappoint others, think that you are saving your life and recovering your health ( which is true ) and feel proud :) and post here at the forum whenever you need it, ok ?
Hey. So i went to a detox about 3 weeks ago(for oxys) and im about 23 days clean. The cravings are DEFFINATELY still there, but you just have to get your mind off of it. I barely have any energy still, depressed, and very bad anxiety. Im finally able to be left alone after basically being babysat for 2weeks. What I do to take my mind off of it is i write in a journal,i color(yes im 21 and im coloring haha),watch movies, read and i go for little walks at night. My doctor tells me I need to go out and go to the beach and do all that to take my mind off of the cravings but honestly i dont have the energy for that just yet. I also got myself a physciatrist(sorry for my horrible spelling) and a Drug and Alcohol Councelor which ive only seen her once but I have a feeling she will help me. The cravings do seem to slowly go away the first few days thats all i thought about were oxys oxys oxys. Even when i tried distracted myself there was it in the back of my mind. But now i dont have that little voice telling me i need to do them. Take it day by day, thats the only way ive managed to get to 23 days.
