day 3 is almost over..some relief

day 3 is almost over and at 2 pm day 4 will begin. I actually woke up this morning feeling pretty good. I still have some chills and stomach problems but besides that I'm good! I slept great last night and I woke up this morning feeling good and rested...much better rest than i ever got on pills. I went down to the beach this morning with my son. I sat down with him and watched the waves and it felt sooo good to just sit there and be with him and be sober. I know its only been 3days but i feel so much better about myself and I have hope that I'm really getting my life back. I was so scared and anxious about w/d's but its already worth it. It's the best feeling in the world to know that I will return home sober and have a second chance at life. I know it will still be hard and stressful..but I cant wait to see how much more money i have, to wake up every morning and not have to chase a pill, to have more time with my family, to reconnect with friends, to be able to pass a drug test after I graduate college (which is soon!) and look for a better job. To everyone who is going through this...be strong. we can do this!!

Good morning..

I've read your threads but haven't been posting in a while - glad to hear you're doing better.  You're lucky - sleep is usually the last to return and you've got your zzz's back after only 3 days!

You're off to a great start - keep it up and keep posting.

Well wishes....

Congrats on day 3 and on to day 4. Isn't it agreat feeling to look at things with sober eyes again. I know sitting at the beach watching and listening to the waves can be great therapy, I did that throughout my w/d. You are well on your way to having a great sober life. So Keep on Keepin on you are an inspiration to all going through this right now. God Bless---Rick
