weekend detox

I started my weekend detox of about 75 oxy's a day for over 2 years. Taken because I had or still may have bone cancer. I had more pain in my leg than I could take and stomach problems right away. I did take some xanax to help with my nerves and telling my kids in 2 weeks and finding out then for sure if the cancer has come back. I have decided that if it has come back I'm not going to get it treated. The chemo damaged my kidneys and now they are talking about removing my leg with not saying it will do a bit of good. I'm at work today I took only one pill but it's better than staying home and thinking about what's to come.

Many people are on here because they need the pain meds and even though I do snort most of the time because it's gets there quicker everything else remains the same.

If I get bad news I'm prepared and I have prepared my kids since their dad died when they were very young. I have told them death is not a bad thing, And that the ones we loved look over us from about and I strongly feel that way.

Take care,
Dove cat

Yes, I'm sure it did.  You don't need to go overboard I don't think...just take enough to keep the pain at bay and be comfortable and able to function without focusing on the pain all day.
Stay in touch...

At this point in time I now see why they put me on the pain meds and after cutting back this week and taking a 15mg oxycodone I really felt it. So even the little detox I did helped to clear it from my system.

Yea I can take these at work. If I didn't take some kind of drugs I would be the only one here that didn't and that goes for my pot smoking boss's too. When people found out I took these pills I was swarmed by everyone asking to buy some. I hardly have enough for myself. I was really surprised that so many people took these things for the fun of it. To get these people off my back I told them I needed to get them from them and that stopped it for a while because I told them I didn't have any money. What a crazy world I live and work in.

Hey!!  I'm just checking on you!   I'm still laughing about the comment you made to me about the forum guidelines!!    "I was never any good at fine print"    HAHAHAHAHAHA

So...I'm going to assume it's 75mg you're taking per day,right??

You know,I'm not really sure this is a very good time to cut back.  The reason is this: It takes more than several weeks to really judge your pain level and this is just a crappy time.  I mean, come on!!  Take good care here!!  It's totally fine!  I really think that you should wait until after there's a diagnosis and then play around with the doctor.
I mean have the doctor play around with your med dosages...LOL  Man!!

Also, you're under some stress right now and if you're like me your pain level will go up!!

Are you feeling the pain right now???   Can you take it at work to be more comfortable?
How many per day have you gotten down to?

I see more negatives right now than positives,Sweetie!  I think you should treat your pain
until you know what's going on,drink, and eat well, okay?

Keep checking in!!  xo

I would have never thought of snorting until someone told me it was a way to get rid of the pain fast and as I sit here in some heavy pain I want it gone but I have to wait till I get home in over 2 hours. I have 3 different dr's orthopedic, orthopedic surgeon and my oncologist and they all suggest I do something different. The only thing they agree on is the pain meds. So coming up with a plan for me has been more difficult than I ever thought it would be.

I remember my dad saying the same thing.  The minute they hear the word cancer they bolt out the door.  Most people dont want to "upset" you when in all reality you already are.  The first thing you need to do is find out if the cancer has returned.  Then you and the doctor can come up with a plan.          sara

Hi Dove Cat.. Please do not think to harshly of your old friends. I have a very dear friend with brain cancer. she is in the last stages now. when everyone first found out they were there for them but as time went on and the effects of the treatments became apparent her friends stopped coming around only for the reasons of not knowing what to say our fear for their mortality, my mom and baby sister died of cancer. my mom had bone cancer and was in a tremendous amount of pain. she had never used drugs but in the end they were a life line. If you have a chance of beating this by having a leg removed then do it only after you have had all the necessary test.. You are worth the fight.. Do not forget to leave room for hope ok a positive outlook and faith had led my oldest sister thru stage 4 breast cancer, she is still with us for these reasons..
as far as snorting your meds, this is wrong on many levels. we can use excuses why we do things but in reality that is addictive behavior. and the amount you are snorting ? If you need a better delivery system they have patches and pumps.. You need to speak with your Dr. I hope you take this in the manner is which I had meant for I mean you no ill will. I send prayers that the test come back negative and if not it is localized.. warmly lesa

To everyone,

I have found out in the last few months even my best friends are avoiding me because they don't know what to say because they think I'm on my way out. I understand that but it hurts, so please don't be afraid to post to me because of this. For all I know this nothing is written in stone. I intend to make the most of the time I have left. And I will.

Take care,
Dove Cat

I have been on a few different kinds of meds. The true thing is that the pain is so severe that without them I would have to go to the hospital . The pain is always in the same place in my right leg. I for some reason was hoping I could make it without the meds but I do think I can do ok on a lower dosage. Boss is getting on my case for being here. like I view care

I hope the cancer hasnt come back.  Please keep us updated ok?

My concern is with you snorting them.  That is very dangerous and causes many problems with your nose.

And you are only comin off of them for a weekend? I dont think that will give u an accurate reading on your pain levels. Taking a break (at least a couple weeks) can and will give ur body a rest from your meds and let u feel what your actual pain is. And often when you get back on you need less medecine or they just work better! Sometimes with your drs help changing your pain meds can help with pain. No matter why you are taking medecine after awhile it stops working bevause your body gets used to it. Sounds like you need pain meds AND you need them to work well. I hope the best for you and I pray your cancer had NOT come back.

I stopped to see what kind of pain I would be in without them. I'm still in pain taking them so I figure lets see what happens without them. That's a good indicator of just how bad I'm in at this time.

I agree with GMcp. I am wondering why you are quitiing your meds? It sounds like u have severe medical issues that require pain meds.
