withdrawal from methadone

friday was my last day to take a methadone been on 20-30mg a day for a year take 1 loratab saturday and one today no more  ifeel horrible i also have 3 little girls to take care of  how long are withdrawals and will the get worse  i also feel really depressed  and suggestions

Yes, I feel your pain also. Today is my first day off of oxycodone which I've been tapering for the past three weeks...I am down to 7.5 mg./day so it shouldn't be too bad of a physical withdrawal, but psychologically....YUCK.  I am feeling depressed, irritable, restless, angry, sad, you name it...if there is a negative feeling, I've got it!  Would like to know how long it'll take for this brain stuff to ease up! Good luck, don't give up!!

I took 90mg for 3 years - trust me its bad! I hate to make you feel worse knowing how you must feel right now. The worst of the w/d start on the third day and last about two weeks. The first month is hell but gets better after that. You will still be lethargic and kranky. Which is really hard on you and your kids(i have a four year old). It really takes about three months to be normal again.  i.e. sleeping, eating, happy and feeling good. I hope you have somebody to help you and your kids. Good luck

Why did you jump off at 20 or 30 mgs?

So sorry you feelin horrible.  I don't know much about methadone withdrawal but have heard it's ruff.  It's the weekend and it's probably slow here.  Keep posting , others should respond soon.  Hang in there. So many helpful people here. Be patient or just post again.  Stay strong.   Mary
