Have Any of You Ever Heard of This??

Hello to You All!!  I'm new, so I think I'll glide into the shallow end here on my first official post! lol..  I am a smoker, though certainly not my only addiction! I was just wondering if any of you have had/or heard of someone suddenly being incredibly sensitive to the smell(s) of tobacco??  I swear it's as though I'm smelling the very chemicals themselves!! It has aggravated my nose and upper palate. It is sickly sweet and is becoming more and more over-powering. F.Y.I., I am not pregnant - although that never made me hate tobacco before. I have never had an  experience to this extent - except for an anxiety attack once ... but that isn't the case either. I have stopped Suboxone (20th of Feb.) ... Even still, does that make any sense? I'm driving my fellow smokers in the home crazy.
No doubt there shall be worse to come. Thanks for any clues to the mystery!!     ~slenderthread~

When I quit the hydro's I could smell someone light a cigarette from blocks away.... it didnt seem like my sense of smell was that keen - but I could notice a cigarette........

refusingbondage and mojorisin --
I can't tell you how much it means to me that you took the time to respond to my post! Thanks so-o much, so much! ... Everything you both said makes perfect sense. Sometimes I guess we want to know if we are the only ones experiencing something or not. :-)
I hope to quit the smokes too .. of course smelling this smell everywhere in the house certainly isn't making it attractive to me. ick. -- And I've been drinking hot tea as well. I don't quite have the great LUV of coffee (either) these days.
I don't think that I have earned 'congrats' as yet ... I did say that I was in the shallow end of the pool, so to speak. I would like to explain further, but I am incredibly tired right now - I didn't sleep a moment last night. I need to lie down. But I DO hope you'll be around later!  ...Take Care...    ~S.T.~

Hello and welcome.  In short - yeah when I went through detox, EVERYTHING smelled and tasted bad.  I *almost* quit smoking all together because it tasted so bad.  I definitely cut down smoking a LOT during detox.. it just made me sick.  It didnt last too long though cause Im back to 3/4 pack a day and they taste great... (lol but not really funny cause I have to quit smoking soon).   Btw - Im 6 months post suboxone!!  Congrats to you on quitting in Feb!
