i would say you are treading on dangerous ground coming off an addiction to loratab. be very careful the xanex is very addictive and should be tapered... you really need to start the taper and get off them as soon as you can. otherwise you may find you have traded addictions. good luck and keep posting....
Taper, taper, taper the xanax, You really don't wanna get addicted to it.
Best of luck. sophie.
Thank you Sophie and Cathie for your advice and encouragement, I am on day two of no xanax and dont feel bad. I did wake up at three a.m. and cannot get back to sleep. But Im not sure if its from the xanax or day 12 of no lortab. I will definatly leave the xanax alone. I dont use it to get high, just was helping me with the lortab w/d. I feel pretty stupid to complain about my w/d from lortab when I read about some of the really bad problems that some folks have here. But this is how we all get started, a little bit turns into alot. I would yhink that with my low dose use of xanax . .5 mg once a day. For about 4 weeks , the risk of seizure that I read about would be normal. Is that correct? Thanks to you Sophie, and Cathy for your comments. john
Sophie , I meant to say, the risk of seizure from stopping the xanax should be minimal . I was only takeing .5 mg a day for 4 weeks. What do you think ? I dont want to taper if I can just quit all together. John
hi john, if you are on day 3 with no xanex stick with it. you are doing great!!!! life gets soooo much better, you are well on your way to finding that out!!!! keep us posted.
Thanks cathy, I was feeling a little dizziness but nothing major. Thanks John
Hey John!
Please, Don't feel stupid about anything, There's no judgement on here!!! Everyone has a different war to fight and to win...
You are doing SOOOO GOOD!!!! Keep it that way lol.
Life is so much better w/o benzos!
The dizziness is normal, it's gonna go away in a few days. If it doesn't, check out with your dr to be sure.
xxx. sophie.
day 4 no xanax. No problem really. Thanks for all the support. John
Consider yourself very lucky. I have been on 1mg for almost 9 years and have been unable to get by with anything less than .5mgs a day and those are not good days. If I could go back, I never would've started taking Xanax. I am continuosly trying to cut down but it seems that I can't get any lower than .5mgs a day. You are doing great! Keep up the good work.
