what the pharmacist told me:

So I called them and I talk to a man in that department.
I told him about taking a quarter and he said there is little chance of withdrawl due to the amount I have been taking.
I gave him how I felt and he said adverse effect of the drug Lorazepam. He also stated that since it was only 10 1mg tablets that, in HIS opinion it isNOT a withdrawl and is just a panic attack. he also asked if I took it daily and I told him it was everyother day and everyday.

He said to contact the person who prescribed me the medication. which I told him was the er
He said the don't do refills and that all they'd ask is if I could come in which I really don't want to do. they will just run tests and send me home. I don't think they can really diagnos withdrawls.

Yes, we have called them and clarifyed with us on me being on it.
it covers pretty much everything except hospital bills.

Mountainview hospital offers charity to those people with no insurance and money.
when I was checkingout they asked if I wanted to see if i qualified and I said of course.
I filled out the paper work and I got mail a few days ago

:>>This letter is being sent to notif you that a charity has been applied to the account listed on this letter. The account is now considered closed.

I got the bills that stayed $0 and no balance needed. <<:

also going monday to a mental health clinic that offer councling so I am going to try that. I have stopped thinking about withdrawls but I am worried about my weight which seems to be going from 98, 99 to 101 pounds. it keeps shifting. I should weight 103 to 104 pounds. ugh

Well, that's good news, but just a quick few questions as I really don't want to see you get an unexpected surprise.  Did you contact the actual insurance carrier your BF is covered under?  They all vary with how they do things and their regulations.  That would be the best place to start....be sure to ask all what you need to get the ball rolling.  Let us know what they say.

Also....you said you qualified for "chairty" for the hospital bill...my question is, how did you find that out?  That you were eligible?  You most likely inquired, correct?  Well, the same kind of inquiry with a few different docs will yield similar results as far as finding an MD who will work with you, offer discounts, etc.  Again, getting this process started sooner rather than later would be in your best interest.

Lastly...if you ARE going to call around and speak to some physicians about what they offer...be sure to clarify first what kind of coverage you will have with the new insurance...and be sure that any MD you are considering NOW will be able to accept the new insurance after you get it.  It will take a bit of work on your part, but definitely WELL worth it.

Take Care!

MrGreen: You are totally right with that answer and I am assuming it is all in my head.

nursegirl6572: No, where I am from in my state it states we have to have been living together for atleast 6 months to be able to go on medical of a 'Spouse' we already looked into it.
Oh, and about the er visits. I qualifyed for cherity so they were all paid for. I don't have to pay them a dime.

greenlydia: I don't really think i have that much knowledge but it is amazing how much one picks up form a mother who was a dr's assistant for many years and one who had a good idea to ask my dr's when I was younger about medical issues. plus.....this fourm and a few others help educate.

I stand by what I said earlier in the other post. You already had this big idea in your head about withdrawls. It was a worry you carried with you. So the first sign of something going wrong you jump at that conclusion because it is there in your head. I imagined the dose to be too low. And the time you were taken it for too short. Now it is just up to you to accept the facts. I will add in that once we stop any form of medication we would miss it. Especially if we are used to medication and have been on some sort or another for years. Lord knows how many various kinds I have been on over 20 years. Lord also knows I missed them all when I stopped taken them. I thought it was the not taken them doing it to me. But I was on other stuff that would have been stronger. Was all my own mind. Missing what I had been on. Part and parcel of this big anxiety game we all seem to be part of.

Hope you get that insurance soon!

Oh, and I forgot to add....what you are experiencing is NOT w/d's...not on such a low dose, for such a short period of time.

Hi again, May!  Sorry to hear you are struggling with the same issues.

Lydia is right, and I think that deep down, you already knew the answers to your questions.  Problem is, no matter HOW many people, including medical experts tell you the same thing...UNTIL you start tackling the anxiety, you will never believe it, and always second guess it.

I have a question for you....you are waiting to get on your BF's medical insurance (which I didn't think was possible, btw, I thought people had to actually be married in order to particpate in a policy...but I could be wrong....have you actually contacted the insurance co?...NEVER make assumptions)...but yet you've had HOW many ER visits?  An ER visit costs at least twice as much than a "self pay" (uninsured) visit to a PCP.  Even the initial appt with a PCP would be far less than an ER visit....especially if tests, labs, etc were done at the hospital.  Therefore, how do you plan on paying those hospital bills?  Your argument about finances do not hold water, considering that you are burdening yourself with at least double the bills you would have with a PCP, or even psychiatrist for that matter.  Unless, of course, you have no intention of paying those hospital bills, which unfortunately, is a shame and not that uncommon....people seek medical attention at the ER, with the intention of never paying the bill.  They choose to do this b/c they do not have to pay any money upfront.  The VERY huge downside to that approach is that it is one of the LARGEST issues that plague the ever rising healthcare costs of this nation, and why those of us that ARE insured pay so darn much for that insurance.

Therefore, think long and hard about making the right choice here...if not for the reasons above...then for yourself.  All you are doing is seeking the WRONG type of medical care (like lydia stated...ER's are to treat EMERGENT situations, not for chronic care...they don't KNOW you like a personal doctor)...as well as you are racking up huge bills that WILL come back to haunt you....it will affect your credit if you don't pay them, and of course, if you DO plan on playing the bills, it increases your stress level, which only adds to your anxiety issues.

FIND YOURSELF A GOOD DOCTOR...PREFERRABLY A P-DOC.  MOST physicians have wonderful discount programs available that will offer you a very very fair % off of your bill b/c you would be "self pay".  Many will also allow you to make payments.  You won't know this, however, until you find out.  I know from personal experience as I was uninsured for a long time.  It IS do-able.   If you know for sure that you will be allowed to be added to your BF's policy, that is great...but it doesn't hurt to start looking NOW and even having a initial eval done with your new doctor.

You've been fighting these issues for far too long...and as you have realized by now...they are NOT going to go away on their own.  You need to be under the care of a doctor....for the medication issues, and to be able to seek aggressive therapy that will begin to help you.  All you are doing right now is wringing your hands, and running in circles, chasing your tail.  You deserve to get the RIGHT help...and the ER is NOT the place to get it.

It is both. I take them everyday sometimes with how I feel. if I feel like I am going to have a panic attack I take them. somedays I can go without. when my dog was sick I didnt take them for 3 days and was fine. didn't have any withdrawls or panic attacks since I was too worried about my pet.
No, I had asked her IF I should go in and she said no, just watch the symptoms. if they get worse then go in but she said most likely they'd be out of my system in 3 days or 4  or maybe even less then that since I only took a quarter of the meds and I only took 8 or almost 8 pills over the course of 3 weeks. off and on. the ambulance, yes...ambulance guys had told me that they can't help with my situation and were taken back by the medical knowledge I have. they said that I may have withdrawls, they don't know how bad they'd get or anything along those lines. my blood pressure was 130 which was a little high but was due to panic attacks at the time. they said they cant tell me if i will have seizers or if I will get worse but they said it is most likely withdrawls and since it is such a low dose that there is nothing anyone can do but ride it out and seek medical help if it gets worse over the weekend.

I havent been on here in awhile so I figured i'd post to get some good insite on withdrawls and if anone else actually took only a quarter of a 1mg lorazepam for 3 weeks to a month and had little or no withdrawls

I will have medical soon I am hoping!
sometime this late January I should be on my bofriends medical.

So, looks like you've got a good group of pharmacists working with you now and oh, look...........they've ALL told you the same thing!

Your answer to the first pharmacist has left me a little confused. When he asked you how often you took the med, you responded, "it was everyother day and every day."
Which is the correct answer, MayMay?

You don't want to go back to the ER because "they will just run more tests and send me home."
Do you know why they will send you home MayMay? Because there is nothing wrong.
And trust me, the folks in an ER CAN diagnose withdrawl symptoms.........when there are any TO diagnose.
An ER is not the place to go for on-going health care, MayMay. They are there to treat emergencies. They don't know you like a personal physician does and that is what you need.
I will say it again MayMay, find a doctor who will get to know you and begin to deal with your issues.

after I called MY pharmacy I wanted to hear others input and this is what I also got from 3 other places, 3 diffrent people.

1. Panic attack related Not the drug
2. Sounds like Panic attack not the drug. it is too little of a dose to cause withdrawls.
3. No it isnt withdrawls, sweating and hotflashes are panic attack related and isnt the drug.

so 3 diffrent places all say that it isnt withdrawl just panic attacks from not taking them and an over active emagination.
