What does "immunostain for e-cadherin is negative" mean?

I have been diagnosed with "invasive Lobular Carcinoma"; "Immunostain for E-Cadherin is negative in the invasive tumor, supporting the diagnosis".
Can you pls explain?

Thanks!

E-Cadherin (protein) when found overexpressed (positive) is an indicator of a greater possibility of distant metastises of breast cancer. Any further explanation would be much too complicated to be understood completely.  Regards .....
