I am 1 month post op with serious short term memory issues. I already bought a puzzle book to work on and I try to test myself frequently throughout the day..... I hope it improves. I don't know if I can go back to my old job like that
I had major memory issues after surgery 10 years ago. It is now so much better but I worked at it. I read that doing puzzles like crosswords, word search etc help. I did them a lot! I used to have a photographic memory & that is long gone, but it has improved a ton. I used to be driving & had no clue where I was. I could not remember simple words for things. It was scary. Now I can remember most things. I do use a lot of post its tho to make sure I remember appts etc. I encourage you to try puzzles or things that make you use your brain power. Good luck hope it helps.
Hi....they had a hard time waking me as well but not as difficult a time as with u....my Drs feel it was a combo, the surgery it self and I also have EDS, and meds can affect me differently.....
AS for the odd memory, yes, it can get better with sporadic times of memory fails....I have odd pockets of these issues now,...more short term memory issues...
Keep in mind u r still healing and what u do on a daily basis can affect how u heal...so stress and over doing it are things u need to watch out for.
