music

Just curious, and since virtually everyone loves music, what is you're fav. Music genre? Fav bands? Fav songs?

I personally love heavy metal, love bands like Slipknot, Mudvayne, Pantera, Lamb of God..etc.
However I love classic rock, Queen, Bad co. Kansas, etc.

I'm also in love with Amy Lee (from Evanescence) voice. Love that band.. yes, I have a soft side lol.

your G-ma sounds like she was an awesome lady. I miss mine terribly. I loved the stories my Great G-ma use to tell. I dearly wish they were tape recorded so my kids enjoy them. being born in the late 1800s and passing away in her mid 90s meant she saw A LOT of change in the world.  My paternal Gma gave me a love for Neil Diamond. She would blast it while house cleaning, dance with the broom or mop pretending it was Neil. I would always giggle.  My brothers childhood story was of him sitting at the top stair with the earphones (huge for his little head) plugged into my aunts 8 track and singing Song Sung Blue at the top of his lungs. And of course, my Boston Red Sox play sweet Caroline in the stretch.....love family, and music....and the memories!

Cool, thanks for sharing everyone. Music is huge in my family's life. My paternal grandpa sang and played guitar and harmonica (country music) and played at clubs and had one of his songs played on the radio. My maternal grandma played the piano and guitar, although not musically related my maternal grandma was a ballet dancer (professional) and was to travel to Paris for a contract, but then she met my grandpa. Their love story is so awesome!! My grandma (you guys would love her) proposed to my grandpa.. haha. She said she wasn't taking no for an answer. I miss her terribly.. she passed away almost two weeks before my DD. January the worst month ever... now I am way off subject... I tend to do that... ADD anyone?

that is histerical Selma!  I was raised on Pink Floyd, as well as Moody Blues and a list longer than both arms put together. I was watching the Grammys the other night and actually teared up hearing Glen Campbell sing Rhinestone Cowboy-a childhood favorite that I hadnt heard in a bazillion years. Instantly I was back to the memory of  being in my moms truck on my way to pick up my aunt at the airport...my first time hearing it.  Love how music can do that too you. Pink Floyd just put me back in the living room with all of vinyls scattered around!!!
