Non-menstrual cramping while/after jogging??

I had a rather peculiar thing happen to me today. In an effort to try & budge my weight loss, I have been jogging off & on for the last few months. I just started up again the other day after my holiday hiatus (about a month). The first day was fine & I jogged 1 km, walked for about 10 mins, jogged another half km, and then walked for another 20 min. It's not much, but I'm just starting!! Today, I jogged 1 3/4 km, and then started walking through the rest of the 2nd & into the 3rd. Shortly after I stopped jogging, I got cramping in my abdomen that felt an awful lot like menstrual cramping. I finished my period about a week ago. By the time I finished the circuit and walked home, I was feeling ok, but for a while there, I almost just curled up in the forest (where the circuit is) and cried until it would go away! I did not have any spotting or blood when I got home either.

This is the first time anything like this has happened, but it felt like I was back in HS, not knowing when my period would start & getting surprised...except without the period. I saw a few sites online where women had posted their similar experiences but no explanations. Any thoughts? Similar experiences?

I have no explanation but I understand what you're saying! I have actually wondered about this myself. When I first started seriously working out I'd feel menstrual-like cramping to the point I was worried that I was doing something wrong.

Now I don't even really notice because I just focus on the workout. I have to push through it. If there is no bleeding I think you're fine!

If I walk or run too fast/too long, I will get a stitch in my side.  It goes away shortly after I stop.  Have had it since I was a child - never knew why.  Just like a cramp from over exertion.
