Burning ear

I am single sided hearing and for the past 7 months I have been dealing with tinnitus, distorted hearing.  Finally the tinnitus and distortion have stopped.  I am not sure why.  I started taking one a day vitamins about 6 weeks ago and stuck to a low salt diet.  It is wonderful not to have tinnitus and distortion.  Now I am still dealing with burning ear, especially when I wear my hearing aid.  My ear really feels like it is on fire.  My ENT has suggested that it may be neuropathy because my ear looks good with no sign of infection.  The burning has been going on for 6 months. I really need to wear a hearing aid as my good ear has moderate to profound SNHL, but I just cannot wear them with the severe burning sensation.  My ear burns all the time but it is much worse with the hearing aide.  Is it possible for the burning to be peripheral neuropathy?
