I started getting ear infections about 8 years ago after having my first baby. At first they were super painful and I was put on antibiotics that would help for sometime.. Then the infection would come back, I'd go back on antibiotics and then the infection would come back. This went on for about 2 years before I finally found a doctor who said its not an ear infection.. And sent me to an ENT. He told me it was food allergies.. And to stop eating wheat dairy nuts soy and to do an elimination diet. I did and found I'm allergic to all of the above plus corn, coffee and gluten in general not just wheat. And sugar and red beans seems to make things worse too. However.. Even after eliminating the above.. I am still having a stinky yellowish fluid come out of my ear. My ears do not hurt like the used to. They don't swell up and their isn't any pain. Just yucky fluid and my ear gets like crusty flakes that I'm constantly cleaning out. I know your not supposed to use q-tips but if I don't the fluid just builds up and becomes painful. I have had it suggested to me that it could possibly be a yeast infection but thats hard to get that diagnosed. I just want to feel normal again. Iv tried some home remedies and they each work for a time maybe 3 months or so then it comes back. I feel like if I go to the doctor again they will just prescribe more antibiotics and it won't work either. Sometimes the ears will itch.. And sometime a I can feel the fluid in my ears moving around. I do have seasonal allergies too. Im just tired of the never ending ear problem! What can I do to get it better?
