I have this symptom you describe.  Noise in my ear that comes and goes all day and makes my vision jump and shake.  Ear tests normal.  Eyes are fine.  Seven yrs I'm searching for an answer.  I'm forty eight now.  Did you find anything out?  Please let me know

I had mentioned the hearing loss with Meniere's.  True, that is NOT the ONLY inner ear disorder that causes hearing loss, but hearing loss; low tones is ONE of the hallmarks of Meniere's; there are OTHER hallmarks that are present as well in order to make a diagnosis of Meniere's.  From talking with patients that have Meniere's there was NOT one that didn't have ANY hearing loss.  I am an RN working in France and there seems to be alot of Meniere's cases here in Europe.  I guess it is possible there may be some of them that DON'T have hearing loss.

I was misdignosed as well with this.

Inner ear disorders are tricky to diagnose; alot of them are so similar in presentation.  That is why it is important to have a physician who deals with them on a frequent basis.

I agree with Londres, Many ENT's and Neuro-otologysts(?) and Neurologists don't know many of the possible problems with the inner ear.  as an example, most with "my" inner ear problem are misdiagnosed with Menieres as well as many other inner ear problems.  Even then, those that do know still miss some things that point directly to this.

One of you mentioned the hearing loss at the lower end of the audio for menieres.  This is not entirely true...  not everyone with menieres will have that hearing loss and that kind of hearing loss is not a symptom of only menieres.  It also happens to be a possible symptom of what I have too.

You mentioned the noise associated with eye movements, and later clarified what the noise is.  I was particularly interested in this symptom, my eye's move with "external" noises, as well as internal such as clearing my throat.

23 years you have been dealing with this?  WOW.

Yes, I have been battling an inner ear problem since August 2009 and I COMPLETELY
understand.  I take Betahistine 16 mg 3x/day and xanax as needed, and if I don't, I am a hot mess!  Yes, I have had my share of  dealing with "quack" physicians before I got a diagnosis that sounded reasonable.  Thank goodness I am an RN and can quickly weed out the crappy physicians.

Oscillopsia can be caused by nystagmus (involuntary eye movements); there are other causes too.  You had stated you are not having eye movements.

Have you ever had a hearing test?  One of the hallmark signs of Meniere's is low tone hearing loss.  Meniere's is usually unilateral but can progress to both ears.  If you are not having any hearing loss, I would question if you even have Meniere's.

I would recommend trying to consult an Oto-Neurologist or an ENT Specialist who specializes in inner ear disorders.  Not ALL ENT Specialists are competent in this area.  The inner ear could be a whole other speciality in itself; very intricate.  It does not sound like this Neurologist knows much about inner ear disorders either; not ALL Neurologist are competent in this area as well.

It has been years seen Ive been to ENT or hospitalied. I have took Antivert didnt help.Ive just learned to live with it. It has been something Ive tried to not let it stopping from doing anything my first attack was after I gave birth to my daughter 23 years ago. I also have chronic neck pain  from 2 bad disc in my neck.I always said if they would give me a transplant from the neck up I would be in perfect health.lol The vision thing worried me Ive read all these web pages and the Oscillopsia sound like it with the vision burring and jumping  but the eye movement isnt does happen or I have never seen it. One other thing is Ive never had the hearing loss in my ear which is suppose to be a major thing with menieres. Thanks for listening I get tried of trying to figure this out. Ive been to a neurologist which they said i have veritigo.I hate going to doctor they just say theres no cure and they just dont know than charge me and arm and leg for nothing. So Im to the point of trying natural things now . Taking anti- nausea meds and going to bed has been the only thing doctors have give me that help me. Thanks again for listening!!

Lol, pushed the send button before I was finished typing, oops.  :)

Sounds like the tinnitus is causing the oscillopsia.

How long since this hospital visit?

I would recommend reconsulting your ENT Specialist who diagnosed you with Meniere's.
He/she needs to change and/or add and/or adjust the medications and possibly retest you.

Are you taking Antivert or Betahistine?

If your vision is  "jumping" or "shaking" and then blurs, sounds more like oscillopsia.

I 've been took to hospital.I get so dizzy I get car sick from driving. The noise occurs in

my ear ,like tinnitus. And that is when my vision shakes and blurrs. I eyes dont shake

just my vision. Its just in my left ear.

Sounds like Tullio's phenomenon.

http://www.dizziness-and-balance.com/disorders/symptoms/tullio.html

This occurs when you hear sound from an OUTSIDE source, right? I mean, it's not a noise that occurs spontaneously in your ear, like tinnitus?

Were you tested for Meniere's or was the diagnosis based on symptoms?  It is possible to have the symptoms you are describing with Meniere's.

Are you taking any medications for the Meniere's?

Are you following up with an ENT Specialist who deals with inner ear/vestibular issues?
